I've been swimming the Cove for years. It's an excellent place for ocean swimmers to get a great workout swimming from the Cove over to the Marine Room on the other side while seeing our State fish, mantarays, CA sea lions, leopard sharks and many other creatures. It also has caves that you can explore snorkeling or kayaking. I've seen... More

We find that our visitors love the walk around the cove to see the surf slamming against the rocks, the seals and sea lions, the beautiful view...and we can go for free, which is always a nice option if you are always having visitors to entertain!

If you can make it to La Jolla, go to the Cove. it's truly one of the most beautiful beaches, with marine life close to the beach. A beautiful park, lots of shops and restaurants close by too.

This a a gem in San Diego. Highly recommend brunch at Brockton Villa, which overlooks the cove, then taking a leisurely walk around the cove afterward. Beautiful way to start the day- this is something we take visitors for all the time & they always love it!

Beautiful scenery, from a distance! The seals at Children's Pool have made the entire area intolerable, especially if you're down-wind. What a shame.

Very nice balance of ritzy and sport area. Lots of fun shops and restaurants around the cove, beautiful views of the water (and sea lions!) and tons of on-the-water activities like paddle boarding, snorkeling, and kayaking.

From a close but safe distance, you can watch the daily life of the colony of seals who continue to return to their traditional birthing spot, despite the efforts of residents divided between loving the seals and wanting the space returned to a "children's pool." Nice point of observation, beautiful surroundings, worth the visit in spite of parking difficulties.

We enjoyed our time walking around and seeing the Pacific Ocean. We saw sea lions on the rocks and harbor seals on the beach. Beautiful.

Pretty little beach with ok waves every now and then. Just be sure to exercise caution whenever you leave your car... lock your valuables out of sight. Fun place to hang out for a half a day.

Beautiful views & inspiration to do other activities in the area. The Cave store nearby gets you up close and personal with one of the caves. Don't mind the smell of seal poop...you get used to it. This is a must see in San Diego.
