A great campus fitting of the quality of education you receive

I don't want to start sounding old, but boy, the campus has sure changed and gotten bigger since I was a student. In my day, there were only five colleges, but even then, many of... read more

Never have I seen an architecturally more unattractive campus than UCSD. The campus is only 50 years old meaning that the buildings were built in the latd '60's and '70's Think poured concrete walls with small windows due to the energy crisis of the late 70's. Wow - so unattractive.

I don't want to start sounding old, but boy, the campus has sure changed and gotten bigger since I was a student. In my day, there were only five colleges, but even then, many of the buildings that are now prominent had yet to be built. There is still no denying the campus is a gem; both in the actual... More

This campus is like a city within a city. It is huge! There are 6 colleges within this college and even if you don't attend school there, it is cool to drive through and see the sights. The Geisel (Dr. Seuss) Library is extremely cool - even if you don't want to read there is so much to see and... More

A great location for a good education. Lots of medical buildings. I cannot say anything about the educational offerings, but this is a huge complex with many "schools" evident. Seems to be many partnerships with industry and medicine.

Explored the campus with our son during his college evaluations. Not only does UCSD offer an outstanding education, but it does so in a gorgeous setting of green grass, eucalyptus trees and an endless blue ocean. What could be better!

Tried out the Restaurant for Restaurant Week, and was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the view was from the dining room, and enjoyed the food and service also.

UCSD is an outstanding education institution, unfortunately the buildings seem to be built with the word institution in mind. Little art around campus. Just square, concrete buildings.

Unless you have a specific reason for visiting give UCSD a miss. There is nothing of non-academic interest there that makes me interested in going there.

We drove through the campus briefly. Also, we walked by the Scripps research pier. Looks like a nice campus within walking distance from the beach.

We spent a half hour or so driving around this huge campus with its plethora of modern buildings, many of them impressive. Not walkable, but drivable and interesting.
