After going to St. James to the Annual Rummage Sale which was spectacular, we walked across the street and had lunch on the outside patio. Excellent service, food was perfect portions and delicious and setting great. Our server was very kind to keep moving the umbrella so we weren't sitting in the direct sun. More

Even if you are not a fan of contemporary art, the cafe, outdoor garden, museum and spectacular views from an architecturally beautiful building is absolutely worth a visit. More

This is a great space that supplements the space in La Jolla. We visited both and were blown away by the quality of the shows. Bravo to the staff!! More

We are fans of modern art, avant garde media, themes, and abstractions....but the exhibits of "abstract reductionism" were, to me, insulting. All white canvas, glass box with unevenly taped brown wrapping paper inside, and a long metal tube do not feel satisfying to me. I like to see more effort and craft and skills and minimalism leaves me cold. That... More

Both sites are execellent for the displays they offer, with a preference for the LaJolla one with a magnificent exhibition of Baldassari in a sculptured space. Only small fault : a rather unwelcoming reception hostess. In San Diego, a Wei Wei (spelling?) bestiary splendid but expected and an unexpected staging of a 50 minute movie on half a dozen screens... no guides to be seen, grumpy "security guards" and little or no art of interest. SKIP THIS PLACE, just go there to have lunch and don't bother to go inside. it's an embarrassment of a museum More

Truly California in its vision, both the downtown location and the La Jolla location seeks to focus the viewer on what is happening in art now. A gem. More
