It is all that you have heard and all that you are looking forward to. Definitely worth a leisurely afternoon. Played the North course. They were prepping for the Farmer's Insurance tournament while we were there. Good staff, especially for a public course. Great pro shop. Good pace of play. Appropriate challenge for every level of expertise. It's one of... More

Pace of play was outstanding for a full course with mix of ability levels. Challenging layout with fast greens. They were prepping for Farmers Insurance tournament when I played and rough was a bit longer than usual. Lost shots having to pitch out of rough. Cart path only slowed things down as well, but all in all a once in... More

After concluding a number of meetings, a colleague and I took Uber up to Torrey Pines in hopes of getting on the South Course. We had not made a tee time in advance, but were quickly grouped with another twosome. The course was stunning! The greens were like putting on ice and the rough was growing in thick and dangerous... Really they played a US open here and will again. It was the course that Tiger won is last Major. Great views. Hard- very hard course. That is the south course.. .the north is very playable. And not many people will know the difference.. So play the north and say you played Torrey Pines.

The only reason I did not rate this a one is the views. They are spectacular. The back shop staff watch as you clean your clubs, no marshal's on the course (one round was 5 1/2 hours), the conditions are terrible, large parts of the south course are ground under repair. Skip it and pay the extra for Pebble or... More

My hubby is a golf nut & so we had to make a stop on our way to L.A. While he did not have a tee time booked, we looked around & dropped a paycheck in the Pro Shop. Beautiful course which I'm sure my hubby will plan to return & play one day.

Local Info! 2 courses. South is where the US Open was played and more difficult. North is a little more friendly but still a good test of golf. Both have spectacular views. Lots of tourists with varying abilities. Expect delays BUT bring a camera and enjoy the experience. TIP: Weekday twilight is good time to play. Green fees are less... More

We were only in San Diego for a few days so did not get the chance to golf but we stopped by the golf course to see it. What amazing breathtaking views of the ocean. We arrived just in time for sunset and it was beautiful. Course looked well manicured and was busy for a Monday. Cannot comment on the... More

The South course is the home of the PGA's Farmers Insurance Tournament and it easy to see the greatest of this course but due to over play and over seeding the course was in sub par shape. As you would expect it also plays very slow!!

flew in from Asia into HNL and drove up to the course, waited in a short line on a Wednesday morning...space for one available on preferred South course, starter helped me rent clubs, shoes, cart, buy balls and get on the tee to join tee group. Course played tough with wind, played long as expected. Greens were very nice, rolled... More
