It is difficult to find a day and time when the beauty of this area won't be impacted by the coastal fog but don't let that stop you! Well worth the drive which I didn't find to be as unnerving as other reviewers have mentioned. The coastal hike down 1/2 mile is a thrilling ledge hike. The view from the... More

Narrow road that climbs a bit steeply, but the reward of the view at the top is worth the drive. Great view of the ocean and, if lucky, some whales.

Requa Road is a paved road that climbs and winds 2.25 mile (3.6k) to the Klamath River Overlook, 650 feet (198m) above the Pacific Ocean. Unsuitable for RV’s and trailers, Requa Road heads west from the Redwood Hwy, US-101, north of the city of Klamath on the north side of the Klamath River. From the Klamath River Overlook at the... We drove down the road hoping to spy the Pacific Ocean and we were not disappointed. We found a park with restrooms and picnic tables and amazing views. This was our first view of the Pacific and it is majestic. We didn't see any whales, but we also didn't know what to look for! Take the drive, enjoy the view... More

We were there in late May and saw whales sporting in the surf just off the shore where the Klamath River mouth opens on the ocean. Beautiful vista.

You must take this drive especially at sunset. Wonderful views of ocean and river (see picture). Fun, short windy drive with lots of sharp turns. Combines very well with a gourmet dinner at the Requa Inn. Small parking area at top. Windy trail for hikers toward ocean. It also can be windy!

We were fortunate that although there were some clouds we had a spectacular view from the overlook of the mouth of the Klamath River. It was spectacular. There is also interesting Native American fishing community on this road, as well as very nice historic Requa Inn.

This road isn't for the faint of heart, but if you do manage to make it to the top at the overlook, you are rewarded with awesome vistas. The road is just wide enough for two cars to pass--that's is. There is also a delightful hotel about half-way up, which would have been an excellent place to have dinner. We... More

Drive up here if you are not behind the wheel of a large camper, the view is spectacular. We stumbled up this and saw whales, seals and the salmon running.
