OK waterfall, not as grand as I thought it would be. Stop by and take photos for 5 minutes is enough for this place.

Arrived on the first day of lightening the falls followed by a laser show. It was amazing .. the falls were changing colors from blue to white and so on.. the falls are spread over in a curve .. a short drive from city but a great place to have soothing view with a cool breeze..

One of the pleasant sight in karuizawa us to visit shiraito waterfall. You would love this place by its silent nature.

The pictures that I saw on the internet before going made it seem like this was an out of the way, picturesque area in the middle of nature...haha, nope, guess I should have looked at a few more pictures. Despite being a huge local tourist attraction however, complete with stores and restaurants, the falls themselves were still beautiful and we... More

If you've been to waterfalls a lot in the past and have bathed in them..you'll be disappointed with not being able to do so in this. It was too shallow and people would think you're nuts. The falls were beautiful, even though they were just about 2-3 meters high. It is rather wide spanning about 70 meters. Very cool atmosphere.... More

I'm from Saitama-ken, and we were headed to Kusatsu for a night. The next day, we headed to the town of Karuizawa and this place was on the way. It's worth the stop. Very beautiful place to visit. There's a small fee at the toll (it's like Yosemite National Park) and then you'll be heading to a parking area. You... More

The falls are right off the Romantic Road highway - we did this after visiting Onioshidashi park, on the way to Mt. Myogi. Easy access, parking, and a short but beautiful path to the falls. Try to get there before the tourist buses do... No fee, but you pay a small toll for the section of the highway to get... More

Beautiful falls 20 min ride by unfrequent bus from Karuizawa station. There are a number of walking trails and other waterfalls in surrounding area.

It's a short walk to the waterfall, which is quite interesting and provides a lovely setting for a few pictures. In the parking area there's quite a few stands selling fresh fruits and vegetables, along with seasonal specialties. We sampled extraordinary peaches, corn and blueberries, all delicious. Pick up some food here before you head for your next destination!
