A few bamboo huts, an overpriced bar, that's pretty much it. I went over on a daytrip expecting to do some snorkeling but the place was practically devoid of marine life (I went to the other side of the island as well). Also witnessed a French woman being attacked by a large dog owned by a group of Russian thugs.... More

A wonderful beachday with healthy lunch included (barbecued fish, rice, salad, soda, fruits). Great value for the excursion. Lack of animation during the trip on the boat so bring your own mp3 or a book to read. Not much to see under the water compared to Cuba. We prefered fishing, much more exciting. The crew provides the fishing kit (hook... More

We went to the Island initially for a couple of days to stay at Koh Ru, ending up being there for 9 days. Staff were great and the location could not be better. This is not the same for the day trippers who are on the other side of the island. I would say not to bother with that and... More

The food and drinks on the island are fairly expensive. Our roof leaked with the torrential rain the first night but our next bungalow was new and very nice. Staff were friendly but not very organised or attentive. The island was nice to walk around and the beach was clean. As soon as you left the resorts beach then there... More

Beach was dirty , water was not even close to be clear. If you have visited Southern Thailand you will probably be disappointed. More

Bamboo Island was our most chilled out experience in Cambodia, even though some say it's too dirty or polluted, it was a beautiful paradise. the one side is quite polluted, but the other side where Koh Ru bungalows is is a beautiful beach where there is lots of room to be alone and have privacy. Or hanging out at the... More

Its worth the cheap journey here just to get away from the crowded beaches elsewhere even if its just for a day trip (although you have to wonder around for a bit to find your own deserted bit of sand). Cleanest water in Cambodia. More
