Obviously if you go in the hot season, there is less water going over the falls. The crowds are tough to deal with in any season More

My friends love K'bal Chhay for some unknown reason, so they took me there on our latest trip. Now, in the dry season, there are a lot of fun rocks to climb on and there is a waterfall, although not at all the most impressive or beautiful I've seen in Cambodia. But the water is FILTHY. I was really afraid... More

This "resort" is very popular among locals. Not much to see there apart from plastic bags floating in the water. The waterfalls are nice but trash is everywhere. Beggars will follow you the entire time as well as numerous children trying to sell food or drinks to you. Go there if you have time and wheels but certainly don't otherwise.... More

If you dont mind swimming amongst plastic bags, food detritis and other trash, tip-toeing over discarded rubbish and broken glass, then its probably ok. Otherwise dont bother, the falls are not that impressive anyway. The Khmers will amaze you with thier lack of awareness, throwing rubbish wherever they feel, even right next to a trash-can, they will throw it in... More

The Kbal Chhay waterfalls, (well cascades compared to the mighty waterfalls of the world), are a great half day excurcion from Sihanoukville. Only about 20 mins up Hwy 4 towards Phnom Penh, and then a further 20 mins or so along a fairly good red dirt road and you come to the falls. As always there's food and drinks available... More

the place is full of garbage left by khmer holidaymakers. The road is bad and you risk a flat tire going there. If you're lucky enough not to have your tires punctured on the way, the guy at the small repairing stall near the parking place will flatten your tire while you are away to get a couple of bucks... Great trip to take renting a motorcycle. Will cost you 5 dollars a day and maybe another 3 or 4 in gas. The waterfall itself was quite disappointing. The water seemed dirty and not tempting to swim in. It might be different during the wet season, we went in early March. For those who enjoy the journey more than the... More

If you're sick of the beach scene how about visiting the Kbal Chhay waterfalls? Copy and paste the following Coordinates into google maps: 10.672754,103.608284 I initally travelled there on a hired motobike with a few khmer friends. The road is also accessible by normal 2WD car without any problems. As you travel out of Sihanouk heading to Phnom Penh on... More
