I keep reading forget about Cambodia's beaches and go to Thailand. While yes it's true that Thailand is famous for it's beaches, please don't make the mistake of discounting Otres.
It has nice sand and water for swimming with a nice view of some small islands in the background. The beach is cleaned up daily with plenty of eating options...

Some friends recommended this beach to us and we're so pleased they did as we heard awful reviews of some of the other beaches in Sihanoukville from people we met - built up, noisy etc. Obviously if you want lively, backpacker nightlife then I expect you'd enjoy some of the other ones, however being in our early 30s we loved...

Since my last review of Otres, it has just gotten better. There's a wider variety of bars and restaurants to choose from and some of the newer bungalows are classics. With more and more visitors choosing to stay at Otres Beach, it feels safer than before (especially at night) and is a lot more fun, but as mellow and clean...

Loved Otres. Not very touristy. Barely any trash around at all. Friendly people working there. Fantastic. Go to Richie's Bar and Sunshine Cafe.

This beach is cleaner than Serendipty, we spent a day there. The food was reasonably priced. The poverty out the back is terrible. All over the rubbish lying around detracts from everything. I kniw this is a third world country and I have been to many but this is the dirtiest.

Nice beach, a little trashed with water bottles and so on, but the water is nice and there are many restaurants and bars nearby suitable for dining and late-night partying.
