My wife and I live in San Jose CA, better known to some as "Silicon Valley", just about 100 miles south of the Sonoma and Napa Valleys. My son and his family live in Sonoma. We have more family in the general area. We gathered, 9 of us, in Sonoma and then proceeded to Kenwood to VJB. It was Fathers'... More

We enjoyed the wines at VJB, and ended up taking some home. The lady who helped with our tasting was very pleasant, but didn't seem to know a lot about some of the wines, or at least seemed uncertain about her knowledge! The food was great - there is an Italian deli attached to the tasting room and a Gelato... More

We were berated as soon as we entered the courtyard. We had lunch of frittata and the pizza special. Topped it off with gelato. Then wine tasting. The wines are excellent! Some of the nicest people we met!

We arrived 20 mins before closing, and maybe our taste pourer was ready to leave, as she told us what we were getting, but not much else. The most expensive wines were good. Not so impressed with the others. This was the 4th wine tasting in the area in about that many days and this was the least impressive.

Love this place from the moment we stepped onto its premises. Great place to savor an Italian cuisine and taste some delicious wines.

We asked our hotel to advise of a vineyard where we could do a tasting but also get a bite to eat and they recommended VJB. We were not disappointed. They have a lovely Italian style courtyard where we sat out to eat, Woodfired pizzas, deli, great sandwiches and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The wine tasting was... More

This place is excellent. Their wines are fabulous, their food is wonderful, and their courtyard is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. They have a woodfire oven outside for cooking, I would recommend a pizza. They have a traditional italian deli inside, complete with an enormous array of cured meats and cheeses. Our panini was so good that we... More

We recently visited with friends and just walked up without reservations and got a private wine tasting- the great part is that the minute we walked in the door we were greeted by one of the staff and immediately made to feel as if we were part of their family in Italy! He showed us to a table and through... More

We've been to a number of wine-tasting rooms. Some will put a fairly strong sales pitch, others are friendly and helpful. At VJB we were the only ones there at the time, yet all the employees were more interested in talking with each other rather than engaging with us. One person saw that and came over to "take over" our... More

Out of all the wineries I went to when I visited Sonoma this one was by far my favorite! The lunch was really good and so was the wine!
