In the first place, it's probably the first wine tasting room you've ever been in with chairs, tables and napkins. But more important, the RESERVE ROOM takes you on the ultimate wine country tasting journey unlike anything you've experienced in a wine tasting room before. Each guest takes a seat in our comfortable and intimate room where you can enjoy wine-inspired art, a little music and views of the hillside vineyards of Kenwood located just out our window. You are then treated to a seven-course pairing menu that includes seven Mayo Family Reserve wines crafted by Winemaker Michel Berthoud and seven tasting dishes created and prepared by Chef Max Porter-Elliott to compliment the seven wines. The Mayo Family RESERVE ROOM is our opportunity to take you further into the wine and food experience that defines Wine Country. « less

..Clayton starts pouring you some excellent wine and bringing out dishes he makes fresh for you. Clayton was a hoot and his food was over the top good. He is the chef, Edwin helped pour and they both explain each course. They call this an appetizer pairing but we made it a lunch and were both stuffed! The only neg... More

Unless you have food allergies, you can't go wrong with seven wines and food pairings for $35. Especially considering everything is delicious. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and the overall experience is wonderful. The Mayo Reserve Room is our top suggestion for anyone traveling to Sonoma Valley, and a strong contender for visitors to Napa Valley too.

Half flight of wine. Kirt was very Knowledgeable with wine in general. Amazing Syrah. Try the Zin and Chard. Arrived too late to try the food pairing. Have to go back!

We spent a fun afternoon at the Mayo Family WInery Reserve Room for their wine and food pairing. The Reserve Room was small and intimate. Chef Clayton presented both the wine and the food with the assistance of his sous chef. Chef Clayton was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about the wines and pairing them together with the food. I... More

This was our 5th consecutive visit to the Mayo Reserve Room. The food and wine pairing is fantastic. It consists of 7 courses and it's creative, beautifully presented and affordable. The room is casual and friendly. We love the wine and the whole experience is relaxing and enjoyable. Kurt took great care of us. Chef Clayton Lewis is knowledgable, fun... More

This is by far the best experience we've had in wine tasting. My wife is more of a wine enthusiast than I am, but we are both "foodies" We spent close to 2 hours enjoying the food, the wine and the chef Clayton, who is enormously personable as well as knowledgeable. His creative dishes ranged from exotic (a wonderful complex... More

By far the best Sonoma tasting experience and the best deal as well! The wines are beautifully paired to the tasting menu. The tasting room is small and quaint. We had the honor of meeting both Edwin and Clayton, the chefs. Make sure you don't mistake this for the Mayo Family Tasting room. You want to go to the Mayo... More

On the day we came we were greeted by Edwin. We were the only one's so we had his undivided attention. He was the only one there that morning and was serving us the 7 wines and he even made the 7 small plates that my wife and I had. Edwin was very informative and we were grateful for an... More

We were introduced to Mayo's reserve room tasting on our first visit to Sonoma and joined the club then. This was our second visit and confirmed everything I had remembered and more. This is not the place if you're looking for a "meat and potatoes" meal. Rather it is relaxing place to hunker down in wine country without the crowds... More

My favorite thing about this place was the serene back patio area under a huge tree. The wine is table type of wine; not really the type of wine I drink. There are better places to go to nearby.
