Good visit

Had a great camping spot near the water. Fishing is terrible without a boat, way to much seaweed and a lot of dead fish floating around. Other than that we had a great time, and... read more

A male ranger was rude and looked drunk threatening us that one of us will go to jail for having our last group conversation late at night during the 4th of july. Is there a law or camp regulation that people are not allowed talk to each other, and if so they will go to jail? This ranger has some... More

We spent a day and a night at the state park camping in our pop up. I was impressed with the layout of the individual sites and the very clean, flush toilet, bathrooms and separate coin showers Some of the sites had lake access for kayakers and an area roped off for swimmers. Very scenic with the camping sites placed... More

Water has lots of algae. Mosquitoes are like they are on a world tour. All those pollens from the trees shower us all around different area each day. It could have been perfect because campsite is huge and fully shaded, #40 I stayed at. So many others around us are big parking lot and tent area. $1 hot water shower... More

The campgrounds at this gorgeous lake are very thoughtfully laid out and suit the terrain quite well. Though we did not see the upper area (off-season, it was closed), the lower area along the Creek and the sites nearest the Lake take full advantage of the many shade trees and other natural features. Each spot is wide and very level,... More

We came to Clear Lake to go wine tasting but realized we needed something else to make the trip complete. We were told the hiking-walking trails at the park were outstanding, and they are. As we walked by the waters edge the place is teaming with like, beautiful birds, turtles, fish jumping, and spectacular foliage. (There is some poison oak... More

We stayed here in a tent for 1 night mid September and it was very, very quiet which was nice. Our camping spot had a view of the lake which we loved. Showers were coin operated but hot and powerful. We spent one afternoon here chilling an walking finding some lovely trails and getting a great view of the lake.... More

I just visited Clear Lake National Park today and definitely do not recommend it. We basically went from one disappointment to another in less than 1 hour. We arrived around 1.30pm, the visitor center supposedly opened until 2 was closed, we were told not to park at any campground but 99% of the park is made up of campground so... More

The visitor's center provides a good introduction to the park with well-designed wildlife, cultural, and local history displays. We didn't expect to see too much wildlife since we arrived at noon on a very warm day. Within minutes of walking on a trail near the lake, we saw an Osprey nest with two adults and two chicks, a doe and... More

Very interesting visitors center with lots of information about the Lake. It is also not to far from many wineries and did have some good camping.
