My family has a long-time love of Julian and when we go we love to visit Smith Ranch Railroad. The Smith family is one of the most genuine, accommodating, beautiful families you will ever meet. They make wonderful hosts for this attraction! The railroad itself is a fun and interesting experience. For the little ones it is a fun railroad... More

Fun, informative. Fun activities for kids 4 and over. Adults learn from presentation, kids get bored on talking part but can walk around so if parents keep them quiet it's ok. Not real gold mining.

The railroad and mine tour is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with young children. The ranch is very nice with lots of things that kids find interesting and amazing. The tour is well laid out with lots of things for kids to do. The Smith family takes great pride in their product, right down the the authenticity of... More

We had a lot of fun riding the train and playing at the Ranch! It's fun for the kids... The ride and obstacle course it's fun for the whole family. Honey dog is a cute dog! It could be a little bit more entertaining.

When we were told by our friends that we would be visiting a gold mine I don't think this is quite what I expected but we all had a great time. You start by boarding an open air train (4 to a carriage), close to the car park (a field) so not much walking. The train takes you up the... More

We decided to take my 4th grade son here after he finished his Gold Rush lesson in class. It was awesome. Very informative. The owners are the tour guides and they are beyond friendly and welcoming. The kids even got to ride a train cart and we're pushed out of the mine in it, Indiana Jones style is what the... More

The Tour was very informational and fun. The Smith Ranch has amazing scenery to take in. There was also a little playground. The Smith family has a rich history that they tell about the gold rush and their own family. You get to ride in a little train to each stop where you are told about the history about that... More

The train ride and tour of the mine was very cool and fun. You get to see where the gold veins were and his collection of artifacts gd found when cleaning out of the mine. My kids loved it. It was also very educational. The people that run the ranch and farm were super nice. We never got any Mormon... More
