We go here all the time. The zoo is brilliant ($3 per person), the animals are well looked after and in decent sized accommodation. The mountain lion feediing is quite a spectacle! The rest of the park is lovely, spacious, reasonably priced cafes, picnic areas, bikes and pedalos to hire, it's all good fun. The special events are fun too,... More

The Great Park is big and good for special events, but I found it generally lacking in atmosphere. It think this is mainly due to it being incomplete. You can take the kids on the Merry Go Round but it is not always open. The big orange balloon has a long wait but has good view from the top. It's... More

I went back to see what has happened since the great park was stolen. (see previous "Great Park Mystery" review). Not much has changed. The market has shrunk, the number of food trucks are down. The path leading to the market is now lined with trees. Were the full grown trees in boxes used? Of course not. Little saplings have... More

Pretty funny that they're calling this corrupt place a park. A tethered balloon and a merry go round = a park. Many who fought to make this a park are dead now and all the place has is concrete. Money is a mystery because its been flushed into someones pocket. Sad it has come to this.

The balloon ride used to be free. Now I heard there is a charge of 10.00 per person. On a clear day you can see not only Orange county and El Toro but also the mountains of Los Angeles county. The orange balloon is the only interesting attraction to this park. Hope they have more in the future.

There is a lot of dirt here but only a small part of it has been developed or appeared accessible. We had a great time despite this. There are some very cool attractions (the organic garden was our favorite). We also loved the farmers market too

I agree with Michael K below. Sad, frustrating, mysterious, confusing, yet what limited things they do have... mainly the big orange Balloon, is nice. But, they charge now for the balloon rides and the carousel. I'll be generous here. Maybe $2 million for the balloon, $1 million to fix up some of the old buildings as art space, another million... I went with my wife and nephew to check out "The Great Park". It wasnt there! Someone had stolen the entire park. Amazingly enough, no mention of the theft of the century was to be seen in the news or television. Strange as it may seem the visitor center was left intact not one piece was taken. Maybe the thieves... More

We came into the park as the sun was setting, which was quite beautiful. The park is under renovations, so besides the balloon ride, there wasn't much to do. But the balloon ride was worth hanging around doing nothing. While we were up, we saw the fireworks at Disneyland and all the lights across the area. It was spectacular. A... More

What used to be a great farmers market now is a gauntlet of carney types calling to visitors. Very little produce, homeboy industries gone, very disappointing
