We went to the date farm on Sunday morning. The shop is excellent and is full of gifts and everything date! The dates are delicious and you can also buy a Date Shake a wonderfully creamy concoction of dates and ice cream. The cafe served us a wonderful breakfast in lovely relaxing surroundings 'al fresco'. The omelet was excellent although... More

We had a dear friend show up to visit from Wash. with a bucket list item #2 - "Have a Date Shake" So we said that Shield's Date Farm & Cafe was the place! We showed up mear moments before they were closing the patio for the afternoon... They treated us wonderfully, warm & welcoming! We love this patio (unless... More

We just made a quick stop for a date shake...it looks like a cute place and had lots of customers but we didn't have time to wander around. The shake was good but a little sweet but what's not to like!

We knew nothing about dates or their production, so this was an enlightening stop. There is a retro store/soda fountain, a nice outside dining area and a biblical themed date/citrus garden. There is a fee to visit the garden but it is waived if you spend $ 25.00, so plan to eat first. The menu has some interesting date items.... More

If you are in the area, this is a good place to spend 45 minutes. The continuous movie is old but it is informative. The date shake is very good but very rich. We split a shake and could not finish. They do have a good sample counter where you can try different types of dates and cakes.

We go for the delicious date shakes each time we visit the area. Two now cost $9.50. You can taste the various types of dates, and that makes purchasing dates much easier. We saw The Sex Life of a Date several years ago, and our friends watched the film this time, since it was their first visit to the desert.... More

If you love dates then this is a great place to visit and of course, they are famous for their date shakes which are quite good. I guess I was put off by some of the products they sell in their store. Instead of focusing on dates they also sell a number of products that I'd expect to find at... More

Had to give Shields date farm a "very good" rating, solely for the date shake. It truly has an amazing flavor and is so delicious. It is also a good value, $4.75 for a very large shake. Worth the visit. There are samples of dates to try, but there were some, not so family friendly items in the store which... More

I visited this attraction on January 10, 2015. I watched the movie about dates which is free and it was interesting. There is a cafe where a number of people were eating lunch. I did not eat lunch here. I did order a date shake $4.75 - good size - and it was yummy. I also paid $5 to walk... More

There is a 1950's feel to this place and the free film was amusing but other than that I wouldn't go out of your way to visit. Not quite sure where the date farm (as opposed to a few date palms) was and the garden out the back, with the entrance fee was pleasant but completely uninformative unless you wanted... More
