There is something wonderful about watching dogs play in the surf. It is so relaxing and fun. A woman was sunbathing and a dog, not hers, came up and proceeded to lick her face--too sweet!

great place to exercise the dog. weekends can be crazy so we only went there on week days. most dogs are well behaved but you do have to be dog tolerant especially on the busy days.

My bf and I feel so lucky that we live nearby and are able to take our baby dog to the dog beach! It is definitively the best dog beach I've ever been. It is clean and safe. Parking on the street is charged and looks full but you can always find a few vacant spots somewhere. Puppies there seem... More

Great place to let your dog run off lease. Parking can be tough. Try parking across PCH on 22nd or 21st and walk across PCH to the beach. I take a beach chair and book and let Dakota explore the ocean or play with the other dogs. Can be crowded on weekends or holidays.

Huntington Beach is very nice and very popular. As for the dog beach, I have two issues that will prevent me from ever going there again. First, you have to traverse rocks and boulders with your dogs in order to get to the sand. With 100 pounds of Lab torque in each hand, that doesn't and didn't bode well. Second,... More

One of the few beaches that allow dogs and here they can be off leash! Make sure your dogs are dog friendly, because there will be lots of them around!

Was looking for a vantage point to get some pictures of the coast when we found a turnoff and parking meters. After paying for parking we realized we were a the Huntington Dog Beach. We still enjoyed the views and scenery. The coast always has a different view from each perspective. A nice stop if even not intended!!

One of the few places left in Southern Califorina where you and your Best Friend can enjoy the Sand & Surf. Be careful with you small dogs! Many don't follow the rules of 'on leash' ! Just pick up after your dog and enjoy!!!

My dog loves it here! Much better than a small fenced in, in land dog park -- there are no fences, just a huge expanse of dog friendly beach. It is a great spot. There should be more of these in coastal California. Bring your own poop bags. They have dispensers but the last few times that I was there,... More
