I have been birding here for almost two years. I have met a lot of nice people and made some great friends. Of course we all have birding in common. The birds vary depending on the season. I love the winters, less people and many species of ducks. Many local birds of prey that stay year round.

I hike here almost weekly. Have seen incredible bird life, including ospreys, white pelicans and numerous kestrils. Watched a kestril consume a mouse bit by bit.

Walking the loop at about any time of day is great exercise and a wonderful brain break. If you go in the afternoon, be prepared for some pretty stiff wind from the west.

I love the wetlands and try to hike down there frequently. There are lots of birds and it's not usually very crowded.
