On a clear, warm Monday, the beach was surprisingly not crowded for a fine day in late June. Dolphins can occasionally be seen here swimming in the breaking waves, though today's wildlife was just a fine variety of birds. This is a State beach, so the fee (15 dollars) is more than the adjacent Huntington City Beach by the pier.... More

My husband and I just took our two kids to Disneyland, and we wanted to go to the beach. We decided to drive to Huntington and it was so beautiful! It was about a half an hour drive, and it was worth it! It cost $15.00 to get in which was no big deal considering that the beach was pristine... More

My husband and I like to frequent state parks while on vacation. Huntington is a short distance from myrtle beach. I heard the beach is great along with the lighthouse but we didn't get that far. In your way in there is water on the right side of the road where you can see alligators. We spotted 6 of them... More

The beaches are well maintained and just beautiful. Plenty of room to spread out and have your own space. Parking is $15 a day with in and out privileges.

Make sure you buy a long enough pass for parking. The meter maids really go out of their way to issue tickets. I didn't get one but I saw them in action. The beach area is too far from the boardwalk. You have to walk a mile in the hot sand, trying to avoid getting hit in the head with... More

Parked at the State Park so I could do a jog along the trail and ended up right at the pier. Beautiful location - Downtown Huntington Beach is beautiful. Only down side $15 for day parking at the state park

The beach here is beautiful! Sucks to pay $15 to get in though. Definitely thought more of Newport Beach... not to take anything away from Huntington, it is an amazing place!

it is a good beach with lots of Volleyball courts, fire pits and all the things you need for a good day @ the Beach. There are better beaches in the area but I still really like this beach.

And you have dining, drinking, hotels, and everything else just walking distance. It really lives up to the hype of Surf City.

We love Huntington Beach State Park. The beach is so large and vast. Largest I have ever seen. Sand is easy to walk on...and the waves are awesome. Many surf lessons have taken place there with our kids. It's great.
