What makes this beach great is that you can find a spot to be alone with your family and friends or find a busy part to people watch. Always miles of beach and parking available for everyone. It makes for a great escape to the beach with my kids where I don't have to worry about the crowds of people... More

Downside...people throwing frizbie's/footballs/baseballs close to the water when beach is very busy. This was very annoying! A bit of a blue collar crowd. Upside...great if you want a long walk along the beach.

You will pay $15 to park. But if you want park 5 minutes away and you can park on a side street. The beach was really clean with many lifeguards around. Area was nice and safe. On this visit the public washrooms were very clean. In the past they were nasty.

This is a beautiful beach area that gets many visitors each day. It is the typical Southern California seaside view - beautiful. We were lucky enough to score one of the fire pits on evening. What fun it was to sit on the beach after sunset and make s'mores! If you want a fire pit you need to arrive early... More

I grew up in Southern California near the ocean and occasionally find a new beach to try out. This one has great parking, fire pits, nice waves, bathrooms (never a strong point at any beach area for those who come from afar) and plenty of sand. There is a beach cafe which I did not check out. The entrance is... More

So Cal beaches are quirky , many lack parking and easy access , amenities are far and few and many just cant handle crowds. H.B. is just the opposite , metered parking the entire stretch of P.C.H. Pay for parking lots and free parking if you dont mind wallking a bit. Space to spread out , snack shacks, bike, surfboard/bodyboard... More

The big beach, big waves and ample parking makes this a must do experience if you are in the OC. We have used these beaches over the years and truly enjoy the beach walk/ board walk between the Huntington Beach Pier and Newport Beach Wedge. The beach is about 1/4 mile wide with soft beach sand. The waves, depending on... More

We went early on a Sunday morning, and it was awesome. It was peaceful to watch the waves and the surfers. There were enough people there to keep it interesting but not too crowded, so it still felt calm. A perfect beach experience.

Bias - I'm a local. That being said, I think this southern stretch of HB has the most fire pits available to the public, with Bolsa Chica State Beach to the north having the second most. I like coming to this beach for a number of reasons: there's a larger sandbar than elsewhere in HB, and it was frequently a... More

Lovely time at the beach! View Catalina from the shore of Huntington beach. The are cement fire pits that provide a great place to roast sausages and marshmallows for s'mores. Local stores carry firewood. (Walmart Neighborhood Grocery and Albertsons on Beach Avenue.)
