I've gone to Silverwood so many times at various ages in my life and loved every one of the trips. As a young teen I camped there. The sites were clean, shady, private and larger than many I've been to. The biking trails are for almost every level of biker there is. However the bathroom facilities did seem lacking. Later... More
Silverwood Lake is a nice area for limited boating, jet skiing, and water skiing. It's actually a small water reservoir and starts the mountain climb to the San Bernardino Moutain areas. Just be cautious in summer: rattlesnakes are prevalent in this area so you need to be cautious when walking by low bushes or rocks.
We live in Apple Valley so we are close to the lake. It has camping spaces where you can stay overnight, but it is best to reserve early if you want the fourth of July or Labor Day etc. They have paddle boats, etc for the kids and you can use your own boat at this lake. Not far from... More

This place is really pretty. We actually had our wedding at the Miller Canyon Group Camp. It is a great place for water activities, hiking, and picnics.
