I read many things about Jimtown and was advised to eat there during my last trip. Glad I did. Salads were AWESOME! I hope they still have the Kale Shitake Sesame one when I return. I know their meat sandwiches are popular but vegetarians cant go wrong. And if they have the bread pudding, (DONT) DO IT!! You will have... More

While doing the tourist thingy north of SF, we made a 30 mi detour to try this place, based on the D.D.D. show. Had the Ham & Brie and Grilled Eggplant sandwiches, Greek Salad, and Iced Chai Tea, and we bought carmel popcorn w/pecans & macadamia nuts for the road. All pretty tasty but short of 'yum yum'. Meanwhile, the... More

My husband and I went to the Jimtown Store because everybody raved about it. We found out later why. Walking in we saw all sorts of old fashioned candy, toys, etc. We walked up to this little counter and read the menu on the wall. I knew the guy from Diners Drive-in's and Dives visited this place but I couldn't... More

So glad we got there a bit early for lunch because the line was out the door in no time - and no wonder, these were the best sandwiches of our trip. Today's delicacies were pulled pork, ham & brie (best I've ever had!), toasted cheese with pesto & grilled chicken, and an exotic fig concoction. Add that to the... More

It's not often you walk into a weathered store (after passing a rusting red pickup from the 1930's) and get a choice of sandwiches that include ingredients like blue cheese and fig jam. Well, there's that and much more. We got the barbecued pork, which was big enough for 2 and the bread pudding which was eaten by 4. Everything... More

I first visited JTS in 96. I was a chef a a large winery and Stonestreet winery is across the street. Mike Westrick ( stonstreet winemaker) took me there. It was sort of a busmans holiday for both of us. We didnt do any shop talk. We talked about whistles, toys, gum, grape Nehi, Yoo-Hoo, Pocket knives any thing and... More

Jimtown store describes itself, “We are a country store with a wider worldview”. I’ll say! How about a country store with its own café, deli, and catering operation with an accredited natural foods chef… a country store that sells its homemade jellies, jams, sauces, and such from the back of a vintage red pickup truck at the local farmer’s market…... This place is great! A real General Store, but updated with a great deli. This store is a must stop for the many cyclists who ride in the Alexander Valley near Healdsburg. But even if you are driving, this place deserves a stop, especially at lunchtime. They make great soups and sandwiches. More
