My husband and I returned from a week in Sonoma and San Francisco. We visited several wineries during our 3 day visit in Sonoma, and Medlock Ames was an absolute standout! The tasting experience here was different than most of the wineries we visited - much more personal, informational, no pressure to join their wine club, and amazingly beautiful grounds.... More

We drove past the Tasting Room and followed a country road to the actual winery. The hostess was so pleasant and spent nearly 2 hours with us walking the fields, viewing the wine cellar and tasting the offered pairings. We joined the club, we were so impressed!

My wife and I actually had our tasting at the Ranch (not the tasting room). The experience was awesome. We were lucky enough to have a personal tour with Jim, the president. The grounds are very beautiful. When we were there the buds on all the plants were just coming in, can't imagine how great it would be during harvest.... More

Medlock Ames was the first stop on our wine tasting tour. We schedule 4 that day, however we enjoyed the wine, ambience, and staff so much we were in no hurry to leave. I don't remember the gentleman who served us, but he really dedicated a lot of time with us. We chatted about wine, Sonoma, and everything in between.... More

Incredible tour of the ranch. Kelley was an awesome host and tour guide. The ranch was amazing with the self sustainability of the whole process. The wines were amazing and the wine club was a great opportunity to experience the best of their wines. Well worth the visit to this hidden gem.

Good wines and nice tasting room. We went there because we found their name on a list of wineries that make good Sauvignon Blanc, which was good, but so were the reds. They also pair cheeses with wines, which is quite unique. However, what made the visit memorable for us was the live music in the garden, and the bar... More

We actually had a private tour and wine tasting/cheese pairing at the Medlock Ames winery, which is not in Healdsburg but outside of Santa Rosa. It was part of our Travelzoo event. The tour was amazing, our tour guide very nice and well informed. We met the wine maker and visited the operation, top to bottom. PLUS, the final wine... More

Wine tasting by day, bar by night, organic fruits and veggies by...weekend maybe? We arrived right at the time of day when the venue changes from winery to bar which was fine but visitors should be aware that there is very little seating and since this is one of the few bars in the area, it does get full fast.... We were attracted to Medlock Ames by the purported "back to the land" vibe and the admittedly very attractive tasting room architecture. However, what a serious let down. We walked around before going in around 4:00 and admired the infrastructure of their gardens and grounds. However, half of the plants in their garden were dying from lack of water --... More

This was an ideal tour/tasting. You were allowed to sample the fresh strawberries in the garden, as they are completely organic. Collin and Katie are knowledgeable and did a fantastic job, and the wine is superb!
