My husband and I were lucky enough to visit the Medlock Ames ranch for a private tour and tasting. ( healdsburg wine tours arranged this for us.) Victoria, who took us on the tour, was so down to earth, knowledgable and gracious. Ryan the assistant wine maker let us pepper him with questions and poured wines right from the tanks... More

We enjoyed our visit to Medlock Ames. We had a behind the scenes tour and tasting and we even had the opportunity to speak with Ames about some of the intimate details of his winemaking business. They make great wine and put on a very nice tasting for us. Well done Medlock Ames!

Our tour of Medlock Ames Bell Mountain Ranch began auspiciously when the staff at Medlock Ames (1) assured us to not be worried about being late but to focus on driving safely; (2) had not only kept notes about my mother’s mobility “issue”, but (3) had in fact already made thoughtful accommodations for her to wait for us in comfort... We had passes for a food and wine tasting at Medlock Ames from our hotel in Santa Rosa. We got the directions and followed them precisely. We wound up driving up and down Chalk Hill Road for more than an hour, but could not find the place. No signs, no indications of where it was. I'm sure we must have... More

It was very lovely place. We had a good guide which (she) told as many interesting about wines. Tasting the wines in a porch with view to the nice country, eating delicious cheeses (I recommend a sheep one!) is unforgettable experience.

The tasting room is very fun, the white wines were okay, but must admit the reds are preferred. It was late in the day, our last stop on Saturday and found the staff to be very pleasant and entertaining, a pleasant experience, especially late in the day. They had food as week, which we didn't have, but saw several other... More

My husband and I returned from a week in Sonoma and San Francisco. We visited several wineries during our 3 day visit in Sonoma, and Medlock Ames was an absolute standout! The tasting experience here was different than most of the wineries we visited - much more personal, informational, no pressure to join their wine club, and amazingly beautiful grounds.... More

We drove past the Tasting Room and followed a country road to the actual winery. The hostess was so pleasant and spent nearly 2 hours with us walking the fields, viewing the wine cellar and tasting the offered pairings. We joined the club, we were so impressed!

My wife and I actually had our tasting at the Ranch (not the tasting room). The experience was awesome. We were lucky enough to have a personal tour with Jim, the president. The grounds are very beautiful. When we were there the buds on all the plants were just coming in, can't imagine how great it would be during harvest.... More

Medlock Ames was the first stop on our wine tasting tour. We schedule 4 that day, however we enjoyed the wine, ambience, and staff so much we were in no hurry to leave. I don't remember the gentleman who served us, but he really dedicated a lot of time with us. We chatted about wine, Sonoma, and everything in between.... More
