Very nice people run this small ranch...from the office to the guides. The trips are 1.5 or 2 hours and go along the coast and down to the beach. Incredible views and an overall great experience. Very nice way to spend a few hours on the coast whether bay area local or visiting.

1.5 hour trail to the beach was the best horse back riding trail I've ever been on, the view/scenery can't be beat. Lovely and peaceful. Biggest issue was the check in time, which was significantly longer than any other place I've been. Once you get past that, it's a great experience. I wish they would consider other ways of checking... More

If your in Half Moon Bay and don't visit the Sea Horse Ranch you will be missing out on one of the best things to do in the area. The whole experience was amazing from the minute we got there till the minute we left, from the property to the ride, even the staff was just great! Go for the... More

My daughter and I had an 11 a.m. reservation and showed up 20 minutes early to check in, like the website recommended. There was only one person (a woman) checking everyone in, and it took her 35 minutes to finally get to us, while we all stood out there in that hot sun. Once we started the ride though, the... More

As a long-time Half Moon Bay native, I can vouch that these horses are not treated well. No local would be caught dead using this service. To stop the horse abuse, visitors from out of town need to utilize other adventures in Half Moon Bay. We have many hiking trails, great eating spots, and beach activities that do not encourage... We went on the 8 AM ride, which is not only a great value, but the horses were very fresh and eager to go out. Nice trail with plenty of challenges. The guide was friendly and knew the horses and their habits, so we were all paired well. The ranch keeps a large herd so I would expect great quality... More

I took my husband & 2 girls ages 7 & 9 on July 3rd. The 8am ride was a great value & would do again. The guides had been very attentive to my 7 year old since it was her first ride. I can't understand some of the negative reviews. This is a horse ranch & not a 5 star... More

A two hour ride for only $50 (at 8 am only) is the best horse deal in town. It's an awesome ride, which goes around the ranch, through the creek, the length of the Half Moon Bay State Beach, down the cliffs to the beach, along the surf line, then back at the base of the cliffs, with a different... This is a good thing if you want to take your younger kids on a horse ride, but it ain't cheap and the horses are old and slow. Still if you have 8-12 year old kids they will probably love it. For me I like to ride my bike past the old slow horses. It will cost you a bunch... More

Willow told me I might be to FAT to ride. I wish I could add a picture of how I look. Yes i am short and have a little belly but I'm not huge by all means. I am an experienced rider and have shown my Own horses before. Sadly, my horses has now passed. I never did make it... More

It is always difficult to discuss weight with people who want to ride. It is a touchy subject, to say the least. We have weight restrictions, explained in detail in our 'Ranch Rules' section of our website. These are purely and simply for safety reasons. Our maximum weight is 240 lbs., however, as explained on our website, we have put... More
