Drive over the hill from the Peninsula, breathe the sea air and relax. The pace is calmer and the views are beautiful. Take a walk on the beach and listen to the sound of the waves.

Nice beach especially to see some waves and sunset. But the park closes at sunset. Not sunset plus 1 minute. Really...I came from Oklahoma with my bride to see a romantic sunset before dinner. You can't give me 2 or 3 minutes to reflect before the ranger starts flashing a flashlight at me?

Easily the most popular beach to camp at. I live in Half Moon Bay so I "visit" but riding my bike through this camp ground several times a week. The great little bike path that runs from El Granada down to the last beach (and all the way to the Ritz if you have a mountain bike) has a broken... More

There is a $10 parking fee to park near the beach and it closes at sunset. We only had an hour to look around. However, we enjoyed a walk along the beach and took several pictures and videos of the ocean, the plants and animals. It is beautiful!

This is a beautiful spot, even on a cloudy day. It's quiet and peaceful. Dogs are allowed. A nice place to walk, bike or ride a horse.

Easy to get to from SanFrancisco RV park, dog friendly. Had a sunny day for Oct, water was cold, lots of tide pools, puppy loved to play in the waves. Mom had never seen the Pacific, been in FL, whole different beach view.

This is my old stomping ground, I love the walking path and views. The beach is beautiful and a great place to take pictures or just relax.

Late. October is probably not the best time to visit Half Moon Bay Beach, there were strong winds and some impressive waves though no surfers, waves too close I guess. Lots of interesting sea birds. Some hearty people having picnics, once you've eaten sand filled sandwiches you never forget them. Some people down on the beach. It looks like it... More

lovely beach with magnificent waves and plenty of room to walk. This may not be the best place for young children as the water is a bit rough and the shore quite angled.

Decided to do some horseback riding in the area and ended up in half moon bay. I was a lone rider who ended up meeting several other riders and spent the day riding around the area. It is a stunning area. Words cannot do this beach justice. I hope to return with my children and spend the day on the... More
