Near San Francisco and Silicon Valley, Half Moon Bay is the easiest major Pacific Ocean beach to get to and the most accessible for people looking to stroll along the waters, picnic on the bluffs, or just sit near the cliffs and listen to the waves. This is not a good swimming area - the water is too cold and... More

Spent a whole day here just watching the kids run wild and relaxing. Parking lot and bathrooms are close by (no hiking required), and the town is just a 5 minute drive to anything you need. Parking was $10. Lifeguard towers but no lifeguard on duty for our visit.

We pulled into this campground, desperately needing a place to crash after 24 straight hours of travel. Had we not been so exhausted, I think we would have pulled right out. Fifty campsites squished into the space of a grocery store parking lot really isn't our scene. There are few trees or other natural dividers to create any semblance of... More

It has good ambience ... Full of crowd ... We enjoyed with kids and friends. Even in summer the whether was good. Good place for camping where you can get help from others too.

This is a great beach. Pull over for a days worth of fun. Evene when the fog rolled in the kids continued to enjoy the beach.

Half Moon Bay State Park is a wonderful place for a beach walk, picnics and just taking in the breathtaking ocean views. There is also a very nice campground in Half Moon Bay. Being so close to San Francisco (less than an hour away) is nice if you are camping and want to use Half Moon Bay Campground as a... More

This was a great place to stop off the main road. It was sunset and there really wasn't anyone there, had some nice views along the coastline away from the city

What a delight to find this gem in the strip mall just off CA-1! The booksellers are actually readers, with opinions and great suggestions. They are there to help but also respect your need to wander among the tomes to find just the right book for you. There is something for everyone to read: new releases; hard cover and paperback;... Beach was nice was $10 to park your car is outrageous. I would recommend going to find a free beach anywhere along the beach that is just as nice. It's no wonder CA is broke, who wants to visit a state park that cost $10 just to walk along the beach. Find free beach

My fondness for Half Moon Bay may be connected to the fact that my family frequently visited when I was a child. Though the surroundings have changed a lot since then due to population and development, the beach is still a pretty spot, worth an afternoon.
