From a small self-paid parking area with one or two restrooms you walk down to a sandy clean beach and you can walk to the right or left for miles. I walked for 3 hours on sand and foamy surf, picking up sand dollars and huge broken abalone shells, also saw a dead seal, hundreds of sea birds and washed... More

We enjoyed our time in Dunes Beach State Park. It was one of those glorious sunny warm summer days. The sky was blue; the ocean beautiful. So scenic. It was also a nice place to walk as well. There is a large parking lot here as well as restroom.

When it gets hot in the San Francisco Bay Area, we like to go to the beach to cool off. Dunes Beach State Park has miles of soft sand beach, though not white as the sand in Florida or even San Diego, but nice enough on those rare hot days. You have to pay $10 to enter and park your... More
