Biked through this trail with my family and ran through it the following day in Half Moon Bay's Marathon and I have to say this path is great for both biking and running. Biking 10+ miles pulling a child trailer is not exactly the smartest thing to do the day before a marathon but I'm glad I was able to... More

I would tend to agree with most all of the comments in the reviews regarding the Coastal Trail. They have done quite a bit of work on it and it is very nice. But as with anything near the ocean it requires fastidious maintenance -especially the bridges with the salt air. It is true quite a bit if it is... More

The trail runs from a little past the Ritz Carlton to Sam's Chowder House which I think was Pillar Point. Great trail that is an easy ride or walk. Enjoy the cool ocean breeze and sceneryalong the way. It's about 10 miles one way.

Based on the reviews, we were expecting something quite different! The free parking at the Ritz Carlton is really nice, but the unpaved part of the dirt trail is really long and hazardous for road bikes, and I'd imagine for runners as well! The horse there was really nice though!

Walking the coastside trail will make you want to move to Half Moon Bay. So we did. Views of the Pacific, the harbor, the town and the mountains.

This was an easy to hike trail. Nice and wide, mostly paved (although when you go far enough, you will have groomed unpaved trails). This is mostly an unshaded trail but with the cool breezes off the Pacific, it was not overwhelmingly hot. The fog lifted in Half Moon Bay and the views were stunning. Instead of parking at the... for riding bikes, walking the dog, or just strolling - great views, lots of benches, and fun to do no matter what time of day, or what the weather.

This paved trail stretches from Half Moon Bay to Princeton with two small unpaved sections along the way. Going north the trail can be a trial if the wind is anything but light which makes coming back south twice as fast with the wind at your back. But it's not that far and if you start in Half Moon Bay,... More

There aren't any dull areas on this trail. Hopefully, one day it'll all connect but as it is now the vistas are great and most of it makes for great bike riding. The views of the bay and surrounding hillsides are what keeps me on it.
