We walk and bike through here often. We love the views and pathways to the overlooks and beach. U fortunately, the golfers race their golf carts with no hesitation for the runners, walkers and families enjoying the open space paths. They also smoke cigars with no regard for folks out trying to get fresh air and exercise. The Ritz Carlton... More

The setting is much like that of the waterfront holes of St. Andrews, with amazing views, wide open fairways, but very fast greens. Like any well tended golf course, the greens are like putting on an ice rink. Also be sure to pack a jacket in the event of the possibility of rain bc it can get very chilly out... More

The skinny first: 9 index, age 65, driver 230 yds. Shot 85. Played the links style Ocean Course at about 6500 yards. Just a beautiful course. There are Cliffside and views of the Pacific Ocean on at least 12 holes. The wind does blow, but the course has wide fairways. The greens are undulated and lightening fast. Never played on... More

En route to Carmel from SF on Hwy 1 ... we stopped to checkout what was there ... OMG it looked like the Scottish coast and St. Andrews without the town and history .., we got on and played the Ocean course .. beautiful!

Played both courses while I stayed at the Hotel. Played the Ocean course at 3 and got a great rate. Played on a beautiful day and almost every hole was a postcard hole. Course played true and I scored a lot better then I did at the Old Course. The Old Course was also a treat, but I paid full... More

If you get a chance play both courses they each have unique qualities. While the Ocean course have great views the Old Course will challenge your game with tighter fairways and challenging Par 3 holes.

This course I thought would be challenging, but it was easy enough for me. Had a great time! The view is worth sitting on the golf course for, even if you don't golf. The only down side is during the winter you can't drive the carts on the fairway. Makes it a slower played game.

Half Moon Bay is a good looking links style golf course with some of the finishing holes on the pacific ocean. My experience here will not bring me back. The rack rate of $175 per player for a Wednesday golf game is not the problem, the problem is the condition of the course does not justify $25. Green recently aerated,... More

The Ocean Course is beautiful. Stunning views throughout (except for a couple of holes on the back nine that go by a trailer park!). Not a hard course at all - a good place to shoot your best score. I have played this course a couple of times and it's in my Top Ten of courses I have played.

Loved playing at this golf course, we had a perfect day with very mild weather and no winds. We played the old course which was less crowded and very relaxing. It was a perfect day for golf.
