I love going to the beach, pier and slough here. Lots of birds here as we'll - across the slough is a heron, egret and cormorant rookery. The beach is clean and uncrowned with beautiful views of Channel Islands. Nice park with BBQ's and lots of parking. There is a place to rent kayaks and SUPs. Water is very calm... More

It's an okay beach. With the recent oil spill, there's a lot of tar on the beach. Next to it, the sewer drains into the ocean. I'd go to Arroyo Burro, also known as Hendry's beach off of Las Positas or East beach instead

On my visit June 2015 the beach was in the best condition I have ever seen. It was clean, the water was clean and very pretty. Lots of nice picnic areas.

The beach was being cleaned due to the recent Oil Spill from the Pacific ocean outside Santa Barbara therefore could not relax and enjoy the ocean, only walk the beach and clean your feet from the oily sand

Great place --clean, picnic tables, dogs on leash, grassy area , then the beach and the ocean. Super experience.

No oil (recent oil slick further along) long walk, looking for shells and enjoying the scenery and beach. Saw quite a few birds and dogs having fun.

Came here with my 12-year-old on "Mom & Me" road trip. Spent the day walking on the beach, finding shore stones, walking on the pier and finishing with a great lunch at an airy and upscale restaurant.

lovely less crowded and the beach goes on forever. Great place for a sunset walk. Disliked the tar, a local regular problem. Dogs are allowed on the beach on leash, Yea!

This is a great beach for a long walk. At least in the off season, for much of the walk, you will be the only person within sight. The pier is also a pleasant diversion. The sand on the beach isn't that pretty, so I'm not sure that I would see this as a beach to sit on. In the... More
