Stopped by this wonderful little winery suggested by out tour guide. The owner comes from generations of winemakers in Australia. Is very hands on and very welcoming. His Cab is excellent and has the only port I've ever liked. We were happy to purchase a few bottles and take them home, as he does not distribute beyond a few local... More

The Decarta Tawny Port was outstanding! The 'Ruby' Port was also very good. Another great surprise was the Syrah Cuvée Ellen. If you want to try smaller producers you should definitely include them on your list.

Chris and company are simply amazing! We have used them for our corporate holiday events. Love the wine, the attention to detail and the fact that Chris is personally involved in most things!

After reading a ton of great reviews on Loxton we made sure it was on our list of places to go. We definitely made the right choice. We did a tour with Chris Loxton which was great! He is incredibly knowledgeable and you get the sense that he could go on for hours giving you great insight into his particular... More

We were greeted by Maureen as soon as we entered the door and made to feel like honoured guests. We learned all about the history of the winery, Chris the owner and also the grapes they have. We really loved the way Maureen made us feel valued and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND this winery. Forget the glitzy ones and visit the... More

This is a small outfit. You won't find the bottles on retail shelves. The owner, with a Ph.D in physics and a career he abandoned, says he likes it that way. We must have liked it, too. We bought a case of his wine. Everything is neat but there are no flowers or fountains. Caps and shirts for sale could... More

Came here on a platypus tour and really enjoyed it! The wine tasting area is in a garage and such a different experience than I had at any other winery, which was a nice change of pace! Chris Loxton, wine maker was there during our tasting and spent a lot of time with us! I was really impressed with him,... More

After some of the fantastic places we saw, looking back Loxton was really just average. The wine was good table wine and the people were friendly, but the experience wasn't anything fantastic. Maybe if we had done the tour it would have been awesome, but we were just there for a tasting so I'm mostly rating on atmosphere and wine.... More

He's a no nonsense, down to Earth, and unpretentious wine maker. Our tour was fun, informative and was followed by an amazing tasting. A definite highlight of the trip!

How can one go wrong with free wine and nice workers? We didnt get to do a tasting with the owner, but the person we had was nice. The tasting room was filled with wooden barrels and gave the room an authentic feel. They even give you chocolate to taste with a dessert wine! Delicious!
