If you visit the Sonoma Area, do not miss Loxton Winery in Glen Ellen!!! We recently travelled through the wine regions of California and Loxton was one of our favourites. Boutique winery and you can tell from meeting Chris that he is passionate about making great wine. The wines are amazing, and great value. Definitely don't miss.

We joined Chris Loxton, the owner and winemaker of Loxton Winery for a walk thru of the vines. Fascinating information followed by an elegant tasting. I don't want to spoil all of his clues and his scientific reflection on the world of making all species - human, animal, birds and plants work together is very reflective and informative. This time... More

When we visit Loxton Winery, it feels like you are coming home. Our first visit was in June 2015, and the owner, Chris Loxton provided a personal "walk-about" in the vineyards sharing his knowledge and passion for wine making along with a private wine tasting. We fell in love with his wines and joined his club. My husband is especially... More

Loxton Winery is small and out of the way but it is one of the best in the Sonoma area for good honest customer service and good wine. Chris Loxton treats you like a long time friend and customer even if it is your first time in the door. He will give you the straight scoop on his wines and... More

We had a great time chatting with Mr Loxton and tasting his wine. It was barrel day and he had a lot going on, but still made time to talk to us and ask questions about where we were from. He has a lovely place. I would suggest you stop in and try some of his great wine.

This is a small production vineyard owned and operated by one man. The wines were great. I especially enjoyed the Dry Rose, Zinfandel, Syrah, and Port. Tastings were intimate and fun. $5 for six wines that is refundable with purchase. We bought several bottles for the extension of our trip in Yosemite.

Loxton was the 3rd stop on our wine tour with Platypus tour company and definitely my favorite. Our host was very friendly and gave us so much information about the grape growing process and made us laugh in the process. He really seemed to know his stuff. I would definitely recommend this winery to anyone coming to the area.

We have been to this winery a number of times and belong to the wine club. Chris makes the most fantastic Rose. I always buy a case for the summer. This is a must stop in Sonoma.

This was part of a bigger tour and was a treat. The owner was there and took time to show us the different areas of his vineyard, the winery, and had a ton of stories about small winemakers and what they have to deal with.

We only visited this winery based upon the recommendation of our innkeeper (Valerie at Hidden Oak Inn) - we truly would've driven right by, simply because it blends into the scenery! There is nothing flashy about this winery. What a treat this winery was - I liked ALL of the wines in the tasting. I don't normally care for chardonnay... More
