We had heard about the tour at this winery before we arrived. We decided to take the electric car tour. What a treat. We had a friendly, knowledgeable guide, Kerry, who told us a lot about biodynamic wine growing, the Benzinger family history, and the micro climates of the Sonoma area. Informative but not pedantic. The wine tastings along the... More

I can understand why they were nominated for winery of the year. Taking the tour on the tractor gave us a good overview of the vineyards, the topography of the mountain and understanding the amount of field work that goes into harvesting a grape to make it into wine. We were very impressed about the organic and natural efforts that... More

We had heard good things about it so we decided to spring for the most comprehensive tour of this biodynamic organic winery in Glen Ellen, about 30 minutes from The Square in Sonoma. A good decision! Our guide, Kerry, was very well-informed and an excellent communicator--one would think he grew up on the property. We set off in our 8-seat... More

I've been to wineries before, but this was the most enjoyable and informative. The Benzigers are very approachable and friendly.

Our concierge at the Palace Hotel in San Fran (Blaine) highly recommended this tour and tasting. We took a day trip from the city to celebrate our 5 Year Anniversary, our first of three stops was at Benziger Family Winery. WOW! None of the other tastings even compared to Benziger. The tour was fun and informative, you really get to... More

Went here last weekend for a private party, which was catered by The Fairmont, Sonoma. After arriving by bus, we were met by Mike from the winery, who drove us on a open tram pulled by a tractor. We stopped to the tasting room, for sampling & some info on the vineyard & their wines & the history of the... More

Wow! What an amazing place. The Benziger Family Winery is impressive in size, but all the more charming since despite its growth, warm hospitality remains. We tasted a variety of their fabulous wines - in Tasting Room and Cave, and toured the vinyard and beautiful grounds. A great destination!

We had purchased this as part of a package. This was the second vineyard we visited that day. The tour started with a ride into the vineyard where we had a glass of Chardonnay which was okay. The tour guide was very outgoing and friendly. He then showed us the cave which was incredible. We ended with a semi-private tasting... More

Went here on a tour and I really enjoyed seeing the back end of the winery and how everything is made. We started off taking a tour on a tractor through the vines and seeing the grapes, the garden, then proceeded to their wine cave where over 400,000 barrels of wine can be stored. Seeing the grape push pad was... More
