Comprehensive explanation by knowledgeable staff, ride to locations on the property and stop to taste and view. Good to read a little before about it so you have some basic understanding of their winery concepts. The more you ask the more you learn. The day and property were beautiful.

We (my husband and I, my parents and our adult son) wanted to tour the beautiful Napa valley wine country. Many wineries have tastings, but we wanted a chance to learn a little bit about the process while enjoying the beautiful scenery - we enjoy wine but aren't experts. At Benziger Family Winery, we booked the Biodynamic Vineyard Tram tour... More

If you like wine, you'll probably enjoy the Partners' Tour as much as we did. Getting driven around to learn about their "green" methods ("wooly weeders"... clever!) was a lot of fun, and then getting to taste a variety of Benziger wines was a bonus. The tour gets you into the cave, a stop which I believe is not included... More

We picked Benziger based on a friends recommendation. We were pleasantly surprised. The tour guide was friendly and informative. When I heard about "bio-dynamic", I really didn't understand. Once on the tour, it was all explained, and it was quite fascinating. We took the Partners tour and there ended up being only one other couple at that time frame. That... More

This is a family winery with numerous vineyard in the area. The family is dedicated to sustainable, bio-dynamic practices. Upgrade to the Library Tasting for $30. It covers seven wines and can be shared by a couple. Ask for Tommy who knows both the family and the wines.

We made reservations for the Partner's tour at Benziger's on the advise of friends ($50pp). We had an hour or so tour with two other couples on a small tram. The tour was hosted by Austin, who had in depth knowledge of the winery and the wine making business. We toured the vineyards with a stop at a shack to... More

I can't say enough good things about this winery. We've been several times, we've toured on the tram and the more expensive Partners tour, both are informative, fun and led by friendly people And worth what you pay for them. The wines are outstanding and the staff at every level makes you feel welcome and especially in the tasting room,... More

Beautiful setting, playgrounds for kids, shaded walking paths, train tours of the vineyards to explain wine making, and tastings...all very well done. Their wines are reliably good, mid to upper mid level. They need to enlarge the outdoor seating decks to take advantage of the setting of the tasting area.

This winery was recommended by the Concierge at Fairmont Sonoma and now we highly recommend it as well. We had a private tour with a friendly tractor driver, treated like we were VIPs. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and he genuinely loved what he was doing and who he was working for. Gorgeous property, wonderful tasting wines, great staff.... More

Since we had already visited several wineries in France we were looking for something different in the Sonoma / Napa valley. At the tourist information right at the entry of Sonoma they recommended the Benziger estate and it was a good choice: a familiy owned business working by applying the Rudolf Steiner method. A lot of respect for nature and... More
