I've been to wineries before, but this was the most enjoyable and informative. The Benzigers are very approachable and friendly.

Our concierge at the Palace Hotel in San Fran (Blaine) highly recommended this tour and tasting. We took a day trip from the city to celebrate our 5 Year Anniversary, our first of three stops was at Benziger Family Winery. WOW! None of the other tastings even compared to Benziger. The tour was fun and informative, you really get to... More

Went here last weekend for a private party, which was catered by The Fairmont, Sonoma. After arriving by bus, we were met by Mike from the winery, who drove us on a open tram pulled by a tractor. We stopped to the tasting room, for sampling & some info on the vineyard & their wines & the history of the... More

Wow! What an amazing place. The Benziger Family Winery is impressive in size, but all the more charming since despite its growth, warm hospitality remains. We tasted a variety of their fabulous wines - in Tasting Room and Cave, and toured the vinyard and beautiful grounds. A great destination!

We had purchased this as part of a package. This was the second vineyard we visited that day. The tour started with a ride into the vineyard where we had a glass of Chardonnay which was okay. The tour guide was very outgoing and friendly. He then showed us the cave which was incredible. We ended with a semi-private tasting... More

Went here on a tour and I really enjoyed seeing the back end of the winery and how everything is made. We started off taking a tour on a tractor through the vines and seeing the grapes, the garden, then proceeded to their wine cave where over 400,000 barrels of wine can be stored. Seeing the grape push pad was... More

A wow! for the public tour. Through the vineyards with a stop for a sip. Our tour guide & tractor driver was informative and very pleasant. He answered all questions. I asked why was it that there were olive trees planted in between rows of grapevines. He answered that the trees attract wasps which help protect the vines from.... geez... More

The estate wine tasting room was absolutely beautiful and if you could do it, I would highly suggest to. You did not have to walk down to the general tasting room and it was extremely private and much more intimate. We were able to discuss the wine with each other without the staff member interrupting us. However, she would answer... More

I must admit at first my impression was that it was a but of an 'operation' & less of a personalized, well crafted true experience. Thankfully I was wrong. Tom hosted our private tasting & was extremely knowledgeable, friendly & obliging.

My husband and I aren't huge wine drinkers, but we felt our trip to San Fran would not be complete without a trip to wine country. We found this winery through a tour book and went there the day we arrived in San Fran. Unfortunately we missed the last tour which was disappointing because they were in the crushing stage.... More
