This was a wonderful park for an afternoon hike. With the interesting history surrounding the park, the views are just as stunning. I could have spent the whole day here. The land has every type of scene: farmhouse, vineyard, redwoods, fields. Travel Tip: Due to CA cutting park budgets, when I went, the park was closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.... More

The wolfhouse and museum are wonderful to see over and over, ever time I go to the Wolfhouse I want to be a guest there talking to Jack.

Wonderfully located in Glen Ellen, this place just transports you right into the natural beauty and scenery Jack London managed to earn for himself due to his eventually-successful writing career. I always like having a little culture served up with my nature (or vice-versa), and this place allows you to stroll the grounds on a leisurely (and uncrowded!) hike, or... More

It has been quite awhile since I visited it. But I loved it growing up around there. Its up in the mountains and its very beautiful. Many trails and the ruins of Jacks "Wolf House". The Park has combined with the State Facility adjoining it creating many acres to explore. Be sure to bring your hiking boots and a picnic... More

This is a beautiful park in the hills above Glen Ellen. If you visit Benziger Winery, you should also take a little time to visit Jack London State Park, they are within minutes of each other

Jack London was not only an incredible author who lived and wrote a century ago, he built a farm based on very modern principles of sustainability. The Park is essentially composed of three segments. As you enter, go left to the ruins of the magnificent Wolf House that burned down just before London was to move in and the museum... More

Hiked here over New Year's weekend with a friend, we did the 7 or 8 mile trail up to the top of the mountain. The trails were well marked until you reached the summit, then it was a bit confusing where the loop went. We met two other groups at the top who were also struggling with that. The park... More

Definitely worth a visit if you are in Glen Ellen. Start with the brief videos in the small museum house- these give a brief (2 minutes each) overview of London's life and the sites to see in the park. (The museum is charming, and the staff very helpful.) A must is the short hike through the woods to the ruins... More
