We stopped here specifically because a friend told us they had great red wines, we drove up to a cute looking property to learn, after we had already started to taste that they are out of reds and won't release any for another 18 months! It was a very sad experience, as well as we think the tasting room attendant... More

Thanks for taking the time to come by our tasting room and also follow up with a review. We pride ourselves on maintaining boutique production levels here, and from time to time, we do sell out of our wines. We are currently offering an excellent Petit Verdot in addition to our chardonnays, and we do apologize if you were disappointed... More

The wines here are good - our personal favorite is their estate reds (cabernet sauvignon and cab franc). This is a pretty winery and interesting place to visit. We usually buy some wine when we visit.

This winery is off the beaten path but a lovely drive to get to it. And it is worth it. Small tasting room but fantastic white wine. One of our favorites! Friendly tasting staff and always nice clientele there tasting. Great history here. Worth the drive and time.

We were introduced to this lovely winery last year by Gene of Healdsburg Area WInery Tours. It's a place that sources grapes to well-known wineries like Chateau St. Jean. They also keep a very small amount of the best-quality grapes for themselves and make great wine out of it. Some people really love their chards but our favorites are the... More

The Robert Young Winery is a bit off the beaten path for those tasting in the Alexander Valley region of Sonoma County. But if you love great Chardonnays, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot served in an intimate, friendly tasting room where you won't be elbow to elbow with dozens of other guests -- it's worth a small extra drive, not really... Robert Young is a good example of a winery doing it right. The folks here are very friendly, and more than happy to tell you about the (very interesting) history of the place, the family history, and how they make the wines, etc. Nothing pretentious here, just a good, genuine vibe, all about having fun. Pours are generous, and tasting... More

We were directed to Robert Young by another tasting room employee. Unfortunately, when we opened the door to the tasting room, it was packed full of people. I guess that is a good sign. We were going to try and come back later but just went on tasting at other parts of the county. We will try it on the... More

Robert Young winery was one of our stops during Winter Wineland 2013 in January 2013. Compared to the other wineries visited this one was unremarkable with just two wines to taste--one a 2010 Chardonnay and the other a 2008 Merlot. When tasting the Merlot, we were told that 2008 was a very hot summer so the Merlot grapes a tough... More

My cycling tour company stopped here for a picnic, a wine talk, tour, and tasting. Loved the attitude and friendliness of their staff.

We had the pleasure of a private tasting I arranged at Rober Young Winery on Friday October 12th. Jeff Noel is the most knowledgeable tour guide you could ask for. He is the Direct Sales Manager and is full of facts on all aspects of the wine business. Their wine is fantastic and was one of the only places we... More
