Now it's called "Christ Cathedral" since Roman Catholic bought this place in 2012. The main glass building is closed for any tourists due to major renovation. Cultures center is open for future model plan.

What a great find for me! My boyfriend knows how much I love cool architecture so he surprised me by bringing me here to show me around. Very unique. Even the cemetery was unique with beautiful landscaping. Totally worth visiting during off hours.

In 1955, the Garden Grove Community Church was founded by Robert H. Schuller and his wife Arvella. In 1961, the congregation moved to a new sanctuary designed by architect Richard Neutra. In 1968, The Tower of Hope was completed, providing office and classroom space. Continued growth led to the need for a new facility. Schuller envisioned a unique facility with... More

Sooooo SAD! All the money spent on this structure that could and should go to help the homeless and poor! Put food in the belly's of crying babies! I just couldn't understand how soooo much money was WASTED just to build this instead of helping the POOR! A disgrace! Not worth seeing!

We went just to see the building and were fortunate enough to have a very knowledgeable lady give us a tour. She told us of the Catholic Church`s plans for the Cathedral. The glass building will be remodeled to meet their church`s needs. There is a model and many pictures of what it will be when finished. The statuary in... More

The area was absolutly beautiful. Went here for a catholic mass service. The priest was funny and the music was good. If you are traveling there without a car beware. It took us about an hour to get a cab there to pick us up.

My dad and I went to mass at the crystal cathedral and it was great. A beautiful choir, a humorous priest Fr Ben and great for seeing real people in California. Masses are held in the arboretum and it's massive! The statutes and sculptures are amazing. Well worth a visit for a lovely mass in a different country x

Formally THE CRYSTAL CATHEDERAL. THE HOUR OF POWER, BY THE GREAT ROBERT H SCHULLER. and his son Robert Anthony Schuller who took over as lead pastor for about 5 years ( he was great) and then one day he walked into the church and found out he was fired. So horrible. It was due to his sisters and sister Shela... More

Amazing place !... for all buddies who cannot afford to go to Disney ! Of course it is a huge spot, and a wonderful building/architectural monument that is not usual at all. As a religious man, I can't believe funds had been raised to build up such an expensive Cathedral made of "Gold&Diamond". #Show off time #betterbuildschools #nofoodworldwide
