We passed the Cathedral on the way to the nearby Outlet Markets and thought it looked spectacular. On the return to our hotel, we stopped and walked the grounds, taking some photos. Our sons sat at the foot of a Jesus statue and we were chastised by ground security for doing so. So much for Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let... More

We were excited to see the Crystal Cathedral up close. I'd seen it many times on tv but it's even more beautiful in person. We couldn't go in because it was undergoing some renovations at the time. Gives us reason to return and something to look forward to another time when we can take the tour.

Having grown up frequently hearing my Mom listening to Reverend Robert Shuller's Hour of Power, I was really looking forward to visiting The Crystal Cathedral when I had this chance, being in the area for a convention. But was very disappointed to arrive to find the cathedral currently gutted for renovations and closed to visitation. An impressive fully attended service... More

This place was ok I was expecting a lot more scenery but for the most part a nice view, but I have to say the crystal tower was a gorges sight. Overall satisfied.

Truly stunning architecture! A marvel to look at. Lovely walks around it. It was on our way to and from places. If it wasn't I doubt we would have been especially to see it though but only because there are so many things to do in the area.

A great place to stretch your legs in beautiful weather. Great for those interested in architecture. Free parking. But not worth going out of your way for... to me, a bit gaudy. Toddler Jesus in bronze? I'm not so sure this is classic art.

The Crystal Cathedral has now been changed to The Christ Cathedral. Unfortunately Dr Schuller (founder of the Crystal Cathedral) was forced to sell this magnificent property and it was purchased by the Catholic Church. Having said that, we were given a tour of these premises by a lady called Pat who was absolutely brilliant. She showed us all around and... More

The former Crystal Cathedral campus was purchased by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange County from the Schuller organization after the latter went bankrupt. The Diocese is currently in the process of converting the main sanctuary into the Roman Catholic Cathedral. In the meantime, Mass is held in the Arboretum, a smaller sanctuary on the campus. Masses are offered in... More

Be sure to arrive before 10:00am so you can get in on the free tour. It's breathtaking to visit the former Hour of Power site. Today, the Crystal Cathedral is now the Christ Cathedral and headquarters for the Catholic Diocese of Orange. It can only get better after all the renovation they are having done. The history of the cathedral... More
