This is just another glaring example of Churches that should not have tax exempt status. This is the most ostentatious display of wealth and just ridiculous.

Loved the architecture. Its beautiful and very quite. We went for a walk in the afternoon. I believed the name now is Christ Cathedral. I don't know the story behind this cathedral but I totally appreciated the beauty, and suggest others to experience it as well.

This property was bought for $millions by the Catholic church for the parish of Orange. The former owner went bankrupt. It is an opulent display of money that could've helped many people in the world. Instead it was spent on a building!

I went here for a wedding, but it was interesting to see where they video tape the cable church masses. It is a beautiful structure, but if you're not religious or into architecture I'd probably just skip visiting.

My friend got married here. It is very modern and not at all what I picture as a cathedral. After the wedding, we went into another room for hor'doeuvres and then walked the grounds. It was interesting to see, but not as impressive as on television.

What a beautiful way to spend the late morning, early afternoon. Walking the grounds of the Christ Cathedral, as it is now known. It will always be the Crystal Cathedral to me, because that is what I have always known it as. On my visit, the sky was clear, the wind icy and crisp, and the walk around the grounds... More

Incredible facility getting ready to re-open as a Roman Catholic Church. This was once a great Christian ministry that was destroyed by the founding pastor's family. As you walk around you will see what thousands of Christian supporter built to spread the Gospel. It is very sad to see it become something very different than the original intention. However I... We are not religious people but wanted to explore the Crystal Cathedral (now called the Christ Cathedral since the Catholic Diocese of Orange County bought it in 2013). It's an iconic historic attraction. Since started in 1955 by Robert Schuller, the Crystal Cathedral became the prime example of US TV evangelicalism. And commercialism. Three important US architects designed buildings on... More

How many places can you park for free, take in beauty, and have a safe place for kids, not often, but you can here!! If you're nearby, STOP!! You won't regret it!! (I was so thankful, I left a non-solicited donation)!!
