This trip was awesome! My son and I have no experience riding, but my husband is pretty experienced. They gave all three of us appropriate horses. The ride was about 90 minutes and the views were amazing. Our guide stopped us on the beach and took pictures with our phones. I highly recommend this company for riding.

A great hour meandering through the forest and onto the beach for beginners to advanced riders. It is not often you get the chance to ride on the beach, even though beginners could only walk. If you want a more advanced ride, go for the private ride. When you first arrive, you have to watch an 8 min. safety video... More

I purchased two rides for my daughter and her boyfriend for Christmas. As their advertisement photo shows people cantering on the beach, I was sure the kids would be able to do the same......WRONG!!! The horses were tied up, yet eating their breakfast for a 10AM ride, and were pulled from their food for the ride. My daughter is 20,... More

One of our promotion photos does show folks cantering on the beach, on the third day of their six day long riding vacation. As I'm sure your daughter, as an experienced rider knows, one does not usually canter a strange horse in a location one has never ridden before, in the first hour of riding a new horse. Our horses... How does a New England village grow into a California coastal town with art galleries, restaurants and curio shops? This tour tells the story of old California and the establishment of the little town of Mendocino. The stories are great and the history fascinating.

I have never been on a horse nor could I tell you when the last time I touched one but it was my daughters birthday. I loved it. The staff was great and the horse was mild and well behaved. Well worth it

I rode with my two daughters aged 7 and 9. This crew really are on top of safety, and they have great horses. We rode across the highway and through some coastal woods, then went along the side of the beach, then onto the beach and near the water, very mellow and very professional.

I am a rider. So when looking into finding a place to ride while I was on vacation, I called places to see which would be my best option. I chose this place because when I called them and talked on the phone they were very helpful. They described what the trail would be like, and assured me that if... More

I apologize on behalf of my trailguide that your ride was both short, and did not include trotting and cantering. Folks take "private" rides for various reasons... mostly so that they do not have to converse and interact with strangers, often children, while enjoying the beautiful experience of riding a horse on the beach. While we never guarantee that any... More

My husband and I really enjoyed our experience at Ricohet Ridge Ranch. We have never ridden horses before, but are always up for new adventures. The staff were very patient and helpful with both of us. Our 1 1/2 hour ride took us through the forest and out to the beach of MacKerricker State park. We were shown an instructional... More

We had a fun ride at Ricochet Ranch. I can't recall our guide's name but she was great... very knowledgeable. The ride was uneventful (a good thing when riding horses) and the terrain beautiful. Walking along the beach and looking at the seals on the rocks was definitely a highlight. It was my boys birthday and they gave them each... More
