MacKerricher is a sprawling state park with uncrowded beaches, hiking trails, and rugged coastline views. It's just three miles north of Fort Bragg along the rugged Mendocino Coast. Great for birdwatching and photography. Seals may be sprawling on rocks just a short walk along an easy trail. Easy parking. There's even free Wi-Fi. Overnight campsites for a modest fee. Beautiful... more

My second visit to Fort Bragg I wanted to visit another beach, after reviewing some websites on the different beaches in the area I chose to go to MacKerricher State Park Beach, because you are able to see the harbor seals up close. I have seen seals in the past, but was able to get so up and close here,... more

We've stayed at this campground twice, in sites 122 and 109. Site 122 is great, right by the lake with a lot of birds nearby and you can still hear the ocean. This campground has it all- tidepools, beach, boardwalk through the wetlands... we'll definitely be back. more

I have been coming to MacKerricher since childhood. It holds numerous treasured memories, yet always provides tremendous new ones. The campground offers diverse accommodations, from shady and private, to sunny and wide open, along the sand dunes, a stone's throw from the pond, or with an eye on the surf, and always within earshot of the pounding waves. Hot showers... more

My husband and I visited MacKerricher for the first time this February on a trip along the coast. We absolutely loved it! We did not camp there, so I can't speak to that, but we visited for several hours and had a great time. First we stopped at a little parking lot by a lake, which was pretty and a... more

We visited this park one evening in early May. The beach is not the greatest one but the tidepools fascinated us for 2 hours and we only left because it was getting too cold. There is alot to look at and will totally captivate you. We were able to watch the seals on the rocks and were even lucky enough... more

My family and I are frequent visitors to MacKerricher and always look forward to coming back each year. We enjoyed the sense of safety and privacy we get while we are at our campsite, go hiking, or walk on the beach. We have never felt offended by anyone, from fellow campers to park rangers, and always have a pleasant time... more
