Wife and I visited MacKerricher Sate Park after not being in the park for almost 10 years. We were surprised to see the levee road that seperated the park from the ocean had been torn down with the metal supports still sticking out of the ground. However, the plus side is you can still have great viewing of the sea... More

The campsites are surrounded by high brush, giving each site a feeling of privacy. It's a short walk to the beach and the lagoon, and it's five minutes from downtown Ft. Bragg. Sometimes you can get in without reservations in summer, if you show up around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. More

Beautiful but no hookups for RV'ers. Has a beach close by. Close to Fort Bragg for shopping. More

Take the boardwalk to see the seals. Ten miles of beach to walk and enjoy the coastline. More

We stayed at the Surfwood Campgroun, which was very nice. Sorry to see that the boardwalk around the lake was closed and that the park had very limited staff. One would have expected more since the State of California raised the camping rate to $35 per night. More

It's beautiful. There's a board walk. There are informational signs. There are guided whale watching walks (very cool). Your dog must be on leash all the time. Poor well behaved pooch! More

MacKerricher is a lovely park. It has several faces. There's the small fishing lake, the haul road to hike on, the parking lot by the sea, or the boardwalk out to the point where the seal nursery is. It's wonderful! More
