We took the Skunk train ride last week, Willits to Northspur on the small diesel engine. It was a fantastic journey through the Redwoods. The driver had worked there for over 40 years, very interesting guy to listen to and the food at Northspur was good too. All in all, very relaxing and well worth the money. more

The skunk train is a fine family activity, particularly if you've got a wide range of ages in your group or if there are very young or older folks with you. The train goes slowly and ascends/descends about 300 feet over about 40 - 50 miles. There's a small tunnel and several low bridges. The entire experience gives everyone time... more
