Folsom was once a smaller town before Intel and large corporations moved into the area. Folsom was lucky to have a small neighborhood zoo since 1963 when it had its first animal - a bear cub that had been burned in a forest fire. What makes this zoo unique is that it is a sanctuary for animals that have been... More

I have visited the zoo often over the years and always leave feeling grateful to have such a place in Folsom. You get to see most of what you go to see at a zoo in a big city, yet you experience the quaintness of a smaller scale zoo. You can cover the entire zoo and still have kids in... More

I visited this zoo once with my 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter. It is very small - all of the animals were rescued which isn't typical of a zoo. It took less than an hour to get through the whole thing - which made the price kind of outrageous. It smelled awful and there wasn't a... More

We were members before we even moved to Folsom. This is such a great Zoo because of it's intimate size, it tends to be more kid friendly because they get so tired or miserable from walking around for hours and hours. You can literally be in and out in less than 2 hours (That includes a ride on the train... More

Visited with my grand children. They had the best of time. The zoo gives you detail information about the animals and my grand children learnt so much. Nice and relaxing. The gift shop is also great.

If you looking for a big zoo and a lot of animals, that is not the place you want to visit. Not much to see or to do. We were board half an hour into our visit.

I absolutely love Folsom Zoo Sanctuary! Great place to come at any age and a great learning experience! Their animals are well loved and taken great care of. They also have a wonderful gift shop and their volunteers are so nice and friendly! There is also a mini steam train next door that you can ride for a small price... More

I hadn't been to the Folsom Zoo since I took my kids when they were in grade school. It's just a enjoyable now with our granddaughter as it was for them. Lots of bears which is what she wanted to see. For a few bucks it is well worth the admission.

Great place to take young children. Nice smaller zoo with a surprising amount of animals for its size.

I am very critical of zoo's. I worry when I go if I am supporting cruelty. I am careful where I visit as not to add to a problem. That being said. Folsom Zoo is a charming little zoo. It is wonderful for toddlers and small children. Older children will enjoy but it will be a quick outing, unless you... More
