Rotating exhibits keep visitors always learning new items about our past. The Native American room is very nice and does a good job of explaining the role of Native Americans in our area.

When you're in Old Town stop by. This is a top notch museum and easy to see in a short time. Lots of local history with changing exhibits.

The collection of Victoriana and local historical items is extensive. The Native American basketry collection is the best in California. The small gift shop has a large selection of history books about the local area and northwestern California.

World-class display of baskets, historic photos, and artifacts from local Native peoples (Hupa, Yurok, Wiyot, and others). Well-done presentation of traditional cultures and lifestyles -- appealing to all ages.

A wonderful spot to take a browse through local history. Posters from movies that have been shot around here, a touch of the timber past, and a view into local native american life. A very nice way to kill an hour.

Large collection of native american baskets of outstanding quality, really worth seeing. Lots of antique household objects in recreated rooms, shops, offices, fun to study for nostalgic blasts. Everything from old guns to a dentist's office. They ask only $1 admission! I donated an extra $5, they do such a good job.

Again Eureka has no appreciation of its potential as a tourist center. It does not value it's heritage enough

What an amazing museum. Part natural history, cultural anthropology and archeology. You never get bored at this museum, the exhibits and collections are varied, informative and whimsical. A tribute is definitely paid to Humboldt County and all the wonderful things that its past has to offer. The Indian basket collection is participially impressive.
