Fun structure for kids to climb on

If you have young kids, the will love to climb on those man made grape vines. Quite different from your usual playground.

Grape Day Park is a great place to lounge around the grass, watch the kids play on the children's equipment and have a picnic.

It would be a very nice and fun filled park for your kids except for the multiple homeless people who have decided to make this park their "home." I do not feel safe with my children when I am near or at the park.

Nice little park in downtown Escondido. There is a cute little grape vine themed playground with things to climb on and a slide, but that's about it. The summer movie nights in the park are free and enjoyable. Arrive early to get a good space.

At the north end of the Park just across for the Children's Discovery Center are a cluster of buildings from early 20th Century Escondido. The old RR Station, a railroad car, the old Library, the home of a local minister, and a Blacksmith Shop. Its a nice walk down memory lane courtesy of Escondido.

Nothing special for adults but if you're in the area and want a place for your kids to play, there is an old train, an interesting jungle gym and slide and lots of grass. For a small city park, it's very nice. Some homeless people lounging by the trees, but not an issue. Just sad.

Winter of 2014-15 saw the renewal and clean-up of this big park next to City Hall - spruced up grass, big trees felled and pathways widened. The "daytime residents" have all but disappeared and the children's playground has been improved. GReat job Escondido!

Grape day park has some neat attractions, the weather is almost always nice and under the trees you can find some peaceful shade in the summer but for the same reason the park has a large homeless and vagrant community. Locals are not usually daunted by the homeless knowing them to be mostly self contained, but outsiders from as close... More

This is worth seeing. Restored buildings, with historic displays. The original train station and more. It is not a huge place, so it will not take up a lot of time to see it.

When I have passed by the park it seems like there are people congregating in a spot, possibly homeless which seems pretty sad but some friends who live close to the park took us over to walk the park and I was pleasantly surprised what a nice walk it. I love the old partial train where you can take pictures,... More
