So sad to see this club and golf course go to ruin. It was bought and a developer wants to build a couple hundred houses on the course. Next nearest courses are Welk Village, and Twin Oaks.

Much to the disgust of the nearby residents, the owner of this club closed it. he had been losing money for a long time, and over the years the owners hadn't put money into the club. It deteriorated, and I could see some time ago that its days were numbered. The layout was fun, but the course needed some big... More

It's been a sad year in Esondido for residents who used this facility for so many years. Bye to hamburgers by the pool, to golf tournaments and Saturday lunches in the clubhouse. Boo. It is an eyesore now.

Los Angeles developer buys property, does no marketing and deliberately runs the business into the ground as excuse to bulldoze the course and build a housing development, adding to urban sprawl and lower home values. Developer does NOTHING to work with the city or neighborhood to lower impact and maintain the character of the neighborhood and wonders why everyone is... More

This 111-acre property, which for 50 years was home to the Escondido Country Club and golf course, was closed on April 1, 2013. The current owner (doing business as Stuck in the Rough, LLC) is in litigation with the City of Escondido regarding property rights.

Played there last week using a Groupon coupon with no trouble. The greens were in good shape and the fairways were playable but need some work. There is no cart service, which I espected on a country club course. The course is not too long and there are a few challanges to keep the round interesting.

They do not honor their word! REFUSED TO HONOR GROUPON! I bought a GROUPON for this course last year and wanted to use it for this Sunday (Aug 5th) since it expires soon and I'm going on leave (vacation). I was told that I'm being denied b/c too many people already had tee times that used GROUPON's. I asked if... More

Now open to the public, the golf course is OK (according to my husband). Restaurant needs to try harder to produce a higher quality. Good local places for large gatherings.

We were on vacation and went to this now public country club. We tried a couple different courses while in the area and this was by far the best! It is 18 holes, well maintained, and staff was great. They also have a restaurant with good food, although the food is a little overpriced.
