Stone Brewing Co. was founded in 1996 by Steve Wagner and Greg Koch in North County San Diego, CA. It is the largest craft brewery in the southwestern United States and has been named "All-Time Top Brewery on Planet Earth" by BeerAdvocate magazine - TWICE! A recently announced $26.6M expansion plan (that includes a hotel among other lofty ventures) is underway, as are developments to become the first American craft brewery to open a brewhouse in Europe. The adjacent Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens plays host to countless wildly popular beer and dining events, and is the largest purchaser of local, organic produce in San Diego County, including a growing amount from their own Stone Farms! In addition to promoting ethical eating, the restaurant boasts a lush one-acre outdoor garden as well as a line-up of 32 rotating taps and 100+ bottled craft beer selections for guests to enjoy.

My daughter and I took the tour to learn more about the brewing process. Our tour guide was fun and informative. The gardens outside aee a definite must-see! Our only disappointment with this outing was that we had eaten lunch just prior to our tour - they have an awesome restaurant on site we wish we could have tried! Finally,... More

Having lived in sleepy Escondido for many years, Stone made it a destination for those seeking great beer and food in a very attractive setting

We had a great experience here. Delicious food, numerous selections of Beers, great tour, and the garden is beautiful! Great place to visit if/when you're in the area.

I have gone to quite a few restaurants, bars, and breweries on my travels. Apart from another Stone location I do not believe I will see anything as impressive as this for a long time. There is so much detail in the place tied in with the Stone branding. It is a great experience.

Excellent ambiance, grounds and service. Six guests and all great appetizers and entrees! Loved the pretzel, Brussels sprouts and the shrimp and grits! Enjoyed the outdoor dining and grounds after dinner. No complaints. Will definitely return!

Stone Brewery is an Escondido gem. You feel somewhat isolated from the rest of the city while in the restaurant and gardens. I love the modern decor and view of the brewery through the glass behind the bar. You can view people on tours through the brewery or look out at the gardens while enjoying your lunch or dinner. The... More

We went here for a birthday dinner and were not disappointed. There were ten of us so we all tried something different. Everyone loved their food. I had the Peruvian chicken and it was very tasty. They have a tremendous beer menu with both their own and other micro brews. Prices were reasonable and the service friendly and attentive. You... More

As a couple who visits breweries all over the country on a regular basis, this is hands down the best one we have experienced. With a brewery tour second only to Sam Adams in its informative thoroughness, it appeals to the beer-lover. The ambiance of the tap room is great. Open-air feel indoors, vaulted ceilings, incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff.... More

This place was great! Decided to check i tout kind of last minute while we were in the area for a long weekend. Have been to many other brewery tours but Stone nailed it! If you want to have dinner, make reservations. We were told there was a 2hour wait but they slid us in somehow. Great beer selection of... More
