Stone Brewing Co. was founded in 1996 by Steve Wagner and Greg Koch in North County San Diego, CA. It is the largest craft brewery in the southwestern United States and has been named "All-Time Top Brewery on Planet Earth" by BeerAdvocate magazine - TWICE! A recently announced $26.6M expansion plan (that includes a hotel among other lofty ventures) is underway, as are developments to become the first American craft brewery to open a brewhouse in Europe. The adjacent Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens plays host to countless wildly popular beer and dining events, and is the largest purchaser of local, organic produce in San Diego County, including a growing amount from their own Stone Farms! In addition to promoting ethical eating, the restaurant boasts a lush one-acre outdoor garden as well as a line-up of 32 rotating taps and 100+ bottled craft beer selections for guests to enjoy.

If you're in the area, a visit to Stone is absolutely worth the time. It's a great brewery tour, with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Definitely try to get here early or be prepared for a potential wait. Limited tickets are also available online at least 24 hours in advance.

My wife and I went for a brewery tour on our vacations and we were amazed. I loved to see their passion for their work and what they make. I will not even talk about their beers because you should know better, if not, try it! We are from Brazil, therefore we do not have the chance to taste their... More

We've heard so much about this place. So we decided to go to Escondido this weekend because we love their beers. My husband and I are IPA and hop heads people. The first impression when we walked into the brewery were "really", all these raving about the place wasn't what we have envisioned. We expected the place to be fun,... More

We went on a Friday night to enjoy the music. I was surprised at how "cool" the venue is - - - picnic tables set amid a grove of trees. A huge herb garden, GREAT craft beers of different styles. The only food available area stone-fired, thin crust pizzas, cheeses and herbs available from the garden -- totally veggie, but... More

Stopped in for the tour while visiting the area. Tour guide was great and they weren't stingy with the samples. Well worth the $3 price and you get to keep the glass. Would definitely recommend even if you don't like beer. Great restaurant attached next door with sitting areas in the garden. Great for an afternoon getaway.

We did a 4 PM tour that included a 45 minute informational session about Stone and what makes them unique/special. We were especially interested, since Stone will be opening a location in Richmond, VA in 2016. Our tour guide, Jesse was amazing - knowledgeable, entertaining and personable. We tasted 4 selections of beer and got to keep the glasses. We... More

I was looking for a change from the usual tourist attractions and fortunately a local suggested Stone Brewery. They went all out when this place was put together so I'll just include pictures because words cannot do justice. There's a very large beer menu and a nice choice of meals and appetizers to go with your beer. If your a... More

Some colleagues suggested going here and I was not disappointed. There was vast array of beers to choose from, the food was good and the garden area is lovely.
