It is the largest craft brewery in the southwestern United States and has been named "All-Time Top Brewery on Planet Earth" by BeerAdvocate magazine - TWICE! A recently announced $26.6M expansion plan (that includes a hotel among other lofty ventures) is underway, as are developments to become the first American craft brewery to open a brewhouse in Europe. The adjacent Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens plays host to countless wildly popular beer and dining events, and is the largest purchaser of local, organic produce in San Diego County, including a growing amount from their own Stone Farms! In addition to promoting ethical eating, the restaurant boasts a lush one-acre outdoor garden as well as a line-up of 32 rotating taps and 100+ bottled craft beer selections for guests to enjoy. « less

I buy their Arrogant "Bastar!" Ale for the guests who visit me and the Europeans especially love it. Sooo, I bought their Chipotle Hot Sauce at Sprouts recently and am VERY disappointed. Its watery and has no flavor or heat other than a bit of chipotle. It was also more than double the price of TJ's, Arizona Gunslinger or other... More

My best advice is to make a reservation, and ask for a patio table with shade! My second best advice is to allow extra time to find the place, because there is not a sign out front. It looks like a big box type of square building and not like a restaurant from the outside. But inside...what an awesome place!... More

They make no bones about it at Stone, this is not beer for the faint-hearted. Great hop smells - almost floral - and the hop bitterness of these craft brews is the trademark. We did the tour and tasting in Escondido and really enjoyed it. But be warned that the brewery is easy to miss; there was no obvious signage,... More

This brewery is beautiful. The buildings architecture, the lush grounds and the enormous size of the brewery makes this a wonderful visit. We took the tour of the brewery which was just OK.The food in the restaurant is expensive and it's OK. The beer is delicious of course!

Went for lunch and a tour for my son's 26th birthday. Read the reviews, so got there at 11am and was able to get on the noon tour. So we ate lunch while waiting, and enjoyed the whole experience. Food is pricey, including lunch, but was ok. The garden area if beautiful. Lots to look at.

The tour, the beer, the food, the atmosphere... it's all fantastic. Went with my wife and we loved it. Entrees can be on the pricey side but all the food is locally sourced. Make sure you get the quail knots, spicy but so delicious. Staff is extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and helpful. Keep in mind this is legit craft beer... More

The Stone brewing restaurant was surprisingly beautiful. It's tucked away in a little industrial park well north of San Diego in Escondido. It's surrounded by gardens and you walk through a well manicured garden walkway to the entrance to the restaurant. My wife and I did not have reservations, and had to wait about an hour to get in. We... More
