Type: Breweries, Food & Drink
Owner description: Stone Brewing Co. was founded in 1996 by Steve Wagner and Greg Koch in North County San Diego, CA. It is the largest craft brewery in the southwestern United States and has been named "All-Time Top Brewery on Planet Earth" by BeerAdvocate magazine - TWICE! A recently announced $26.6M expansion plan (that includes a hotel among other lofty ventures) is underway, as are developments to become the first American craft brewery to open a brewhouse in Europe. The adjacent Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens plays host to countless wildly popular beer and dining events, and is the largest purchaser of local, organic produce in San Diego County, including a growing amount from their own Stone Farms! In addition to promoting ethical eating, the restaurant boasts a lush one-acre outdoor garden as well as a line-up of 32 rotating taps and 100+ bottled craft beer selections for guests to enjoy.

The facility is amazing! Very modern, clean and overall great experience. Outdoor garden seating area is a must see and experience. Tour of the brewery is a little anticlimactic but interesting nonetheless.

If you have not been here, and you like good beer and food, this is a must visit when you in the area. Food can be pricey, but overall really nice beer and food. Get here early on weekends as it gets really crowded.

Very cool restaurant and bar areas. The food was very good and the beer delicious (if you are not a Bud drinker :-). The outside grounds are beautiful to walk around, lots of neat little areas to relax and enjoy the beautiful So Cal weather. We really enjoyed the brewery tour for just $3 with a taste testing at the... More

Usually the best breweries are the hardest to find and in odd buildings. Not Stone Brewing. This is a destination brewery. It is so nice people get married here. Don't let the fancy digs put you off, they have seriously great beer! Their beer is not run of the mill. If you fancy Coors Light, you may need to work... More

There are many micro brewery's in Escondido, you can book a tour or just roll up. Love the sampler idea as most brewery's have dozens of beers, samplers are free. REMEMBER no unopened bottles of beer while driving or being a passenger California laws are very tough. Escondido is a wonderful place, I was lucky a mate took me around... More

Amazing place - great people. We enjoyed the tour and the tasting. It is a little hard to find and they like it that way! Plan to be there a couple of hours - very fun.

The restaurant and grounds of the brewery are beautiful. The koi pond can keep the kids busy while you enjoy a delicious meal. There are so many different choices everyone can find something on the menu. The tour was fun and informative and you can tell the staff love their jobs.

Luv this place. No reservations needed but helpful if time is a constraint. It is really busy on weekends but it never felt crowded. Otherwise add your name to the list, walk around to the patio and grounds, grab a beer and enjoy the water, the grass and the hops. Dinner (for us it was lunch time) was very good,... More
