What a great place. The artist Niki vision and wonderful story telling ability through her art works. Not a lot to do here just look at all these whimsical friends. It is free to all. The city of Escondido is doing some repair work right now. If you want some fun family photos or even a wedding photo go here.

My friend and I traveled to Escondido to run a half-marathon sponsored by Safari Park. The day before the race we were "hanging out" looking for something to do close to our hotel. I had read about Queen Califa's Magical Circle and was curious about what it was about; so we headed for Kit Carson Park. We both loved it.... More

So I am only giving this place an average, for there is a large fence around it. We knew this might happened, but still wanted to give it a go. Once the fence is down. it looks like it would be a an amazing place to visit.

Nikki St. Phalle was an extraordinary artist with a flair for colorful, mystical creatures. Her Magical Circle is hidden away in Kit Carson park, and is a visual feast. I've seen her work outside the Pompidou in Paris, France, and this is better.

As a lover of mosaics, this is a very fun find. Located in a quiet park, this is a nice short walk to get to from the parking area. The mosaic area is in a circle with a cement base. With not too many attractions in this area, this is free and a nice way to unwind. We will take... More

It is located in Kit Carson Park, You can feed the ducks in the pond and play Frisbee golf. The walking paths are very nice and a great place for a picnic. Bring drinking water also it gets a bit hot during the summer.

I have been there several times. My last visit inside was with a special friend whom i photographed there and it was just awesome. The place itself will almost feel like being a kid again and just ooooo and aaaaaahhh at the beauty of it all. It definitely a place you have to visit. My last visit was Feb 2014... More

Unfortunately this work was vandalized last May and closed for restoration but work not yet begun. I walk past the exhibit several times a week and many tourists are disappointed since they came to Kit Carson Park just to see it. Hopefully, it will be available sometime this year. Call the City of Escondido for more updated info.

I just got an update today. They have hired a contractorto complete the repairs but it's going to take up to 4 months. So don't plan on getting inside the gates until summer 2014. That being said, it's still a wonderful place to take a walk and view from outside the fence.
