As a lover of mosaics, this is a very fun find. Located in a quiet park, this is a nice short walk to get to from the parking area. The mosaic area is in a circle with a cement base. With not too many attractions in this area, this is free and a nice way to unwind. We will take... More

It is located in Kit Carson Park, You can feed the ducks in the pond and play Frisbee golf. The walking paths are very nice and a great place for a picnic. Bring drinking water also it gets a bit hot during the summer.

I have been there several times. My last visit inside was with a special friend whom i photographed there and it was just awesome. The place itself will almost feel like being a kid again and just ooooo and aaaaaahhh at the beauty of it all. It definitely a place you have to visit. My last visit was Feb 2014... More

Unfortunately this work was vandalized last May and closed for restoration but work not yet begun. I walk past the exhibit several times a week and many tourists are disappointed since they came to Kit Carson Park just to see it. Hopefully, it will be available sometime this year. Call the City of Escondido for more updated info.

I just got an update today. They have hired a contractorto complete the repairs but it's going to take up to 4 months. So don't plan on getting inside the gates until summer 2014. That being said, it's still a wonderful place to take a walk and view from outside the fence.

We stopped by hoping it would be open but sadly it is still closed for repairs. We walked up and peed in the fence, it looks like a wonderful place to visit and enjoy. Sad it was still closed for repairs even if it appears that the work has been completed from what we could see. Hopefully we can make... More

Niki de Saint Phall was a gifted world renowned artist. The wonderful work she did was a gift to the people of Escondido. She did only three works of that magnitude, the one in Escondido, one in Jerusalem, and one in Southern Tuscany. To view the her work is to explore a world of beauty and fantasy, as well as... More

We visited this park for the first time about a year ago. I was totally awed by the beautiful mosaics and art work that was demonstrated. We took my grand children about a month ago, telling them they would never see anything like this but is was closed. Very disappointed, hope they open again soon.

While it has been awhile since we visited with our grandkids we still remember the whimsical world of Queen Califa executed by Niki de Saint Phalle . Let your imagination loose.
