My first full day in California was a visit to the Meditation Garden to meet our native Charlestonian friend who lives there in the Self Realization community. In trying to find each other, I called him on my cell phone in the garden. I didn't realize that is why the guards are there, to prevent talking and cell ph use.... More

Try to spend 45 minutes here and soak in the Meditation Gardens. We went on a clear day and found awesome views and vibrant succulents. Meander about and enjoy the solitude!

What an absolutely beautiful and special spot in Encinitas, CA. The gardens are small, but lovely. They are high above the Pacific Ocean so the view is gorgeous.

No. We didn't come here for self-realization or meditation. We came here because my cousin said it was a beautiful place. He was right! The gardens and setting right by the ocean are lovely. They also had a beautiful koi pond.

Weekends are crazy and since I love going to meditate, I would suggest early when they open or during the week!

Well worth the trip. Parking close to gate on side street is best. My friend who came had to sit it out on a lower level bench as the stairs, although very wide and stable, were too much for her bad hip. I did walk the gardens and truly enjoyed the views of the ocean. I will come back again... More

Don't be put off by the name: this place is a wonderful, peaceful, beautiful oasis. Always inviting, a great getaway, a place to stroll, sit, look, relax, enjoy, take in some sun, enjoy the surroundings. Forget about the mad-dash world for just a little bit.

Brought a friend to walk the mediation gardens - a wonderful place to see gardens, koi ponds (wow the koi are BIG), and the coastal view. Grounds are smaller than I remembered - but a great place to sit (lots of benches) and take in the blissful surroundings!

I've been visiting the meditation gardens for years, and always bring visitors to Encinitas to experience the peace and beauty of this incredibly well maintained garden on the cliffs along the sea. There are numerous places to sit and meditate, or just relax, and a lovely koi pond. Keep your chatter to a minimum and respect the quietude others are... More
