This gorgeous, tranquil garden is an absolute MUST SEE! My surf instructor took me here the first time I was ever in Encinitas and I was blown away by the beauty found here. Its got quiet spots for meditation, Koi Ponds, lush vegetation throughout and stunning views of the ocean. You are not allowed to talk on a cell phone,... More

A combination of several religions into one recipe trying to make it work. Religion compared to a trash can punch. Beautiful grounds, but such a sad application

As a devotee of Yogananda, all I can say is that he certainly knew how to choose the best locations in Southern California for his temples and meditation retreats. Stunning beach views and GOOD energy!

I'm local to this area and the meditation gardens are one of my frequent hangout spots. It's such a beautiful, serene place to go and just take a step away from life's everyday stresses. I also highly recommend people visiting from out of town make a point to stop here. First of all, it's FREE to get in, so you've... More

This garden of meditation is so calming, comforting, beautiful and so well taken care of that I didn't go there for any surprises. But of course we look to see how big the koi have gotten every time we go, which is about every year when in San Diego. There numerous ponds with koi of varying ages but this time... More

Paramhansa Yogananda was the founder and guru of the Self-Realization Fellowship. Some of of his disciples bought land south of the Mother Center in Highland Park as a retreat. It is a perfect place for practicing reflection and meditation. Located on a bluff above the ocean, amidst calming plants and waters. The sensitive can even feel the vibes of all... More

As a child, I surfed at the foot of Swamis and did not understand the spiritual oasis that the SRF gardens provided. Today I am blessed to experience the gardens and the otherworldly peace that is found there and defies the minds ability to comprehend. Don't miss this treasure when you are in the North San Diego area.

One of our favorite places to visit when we come to San Diego to stay with family. We go to the Meditation Garden, then stop in the Bookstore where there are interesting things to read and beautiful items, including jewelry, to purchase. Then we usually have lunch at Swamis across the street from the bookstore, all three within walking distance.

Most beautiful gardens and the view of the ocean is unbelievable, you can see forever. You can also walk along the ocean before on after visiting the gardens.
