Beautiful beach

This is a really beautiful beach and great surfing. The surf is a little easier here so it's a good spot to go if you're just learning. Really popular spot with locals.

A gorgeous spot above the ocean. Tranquil and verdant. Worth a stop even if the actual SRF thing isn't for you. The high bluff vistas above the waves in Encinitas are so interesting and this is a great place from which to enjoy them.

A crowded place but when it is working it is a real nice wave. Don't be greedy, be patient and eventually you will snag a wave or two. Heading North can be worth it as a few left peaks pop up but the peeling rights are what this place is about. Don't forget to look up at the Self Realization... More

My Fiancé and I are traveling to Hawaii. We stopped in San Diego to spend Thanksgiving with friends. We visited Swami's 2 previous days and the waves were flat. John's a surfer and I enjoy watching. The 3rd day we we're getting swells from a NorEaster and the wave were 3-4ft high. To watch the guys and ladies out there... More

I don't surf but thousands of surfers young and old are attracted to this beach each year. Good access to Coastal Highway 101. Parking might be a little tricky. You might find yourself surfing along side a surfing legond - you never know!

Breathtaking sunset!!! I just went to take a look, but stayed to see the beautiful sunset. Many surfers around, love to see them on top of the waves.

Wow! I have hit many tidepools during the winter months of San Diego County and have to say that this one was jaw-droppingly good. I cannot believe that I am actually holding a live black, sea hare! One Caveat: The first time I held it, no problem. Then I passed it to my friend. Still no problem. I had her... More

Great beach, not too crowded and easy to access as long as you don't mind going down a couple of flights of stairs.
