Stopped by to take in the sights. A beautiful area with the ocean and cliffs. A place where you can take in the sights, go for a walk, hang on the beach or even surf. A popular area for surfers and a nice place to watch them. Neat landscapes all around. Can be a little chilly on some days. I... More

We visited after a late lunch just after a beach artist had completed an expansive maze mandala, when the tide was low enough to reveal the stone tables crusted with mussels and barnacles along the shore with a few elevated tide puddles complete with sea anemones. A little later and we could have seen some of the more expansive tide... More

Popular with the surfers, this beach is next to Swami's meditation center. It boasts a long uninterrupted beach where long walks or runs are possible. Cannot go wrong with this choice.

We have visited many times - each time we come to San Diego. The gardens are free to visit and donations keep it going and is it beautiful! It has well maintained walkways, gardens, ponds with Koi, and all plants are spectacular. It is a garden in San Diego that should not be missed.

Great views are seen here from parking lot and path that leads to ocean/beach. I like to park (if you can find a spot, its popular with surfers.) eat take-out lunch and then take a walk down 101. Just discovered in campground is a little taco stand with tables that offer killer views...my next trip, I will be trying that... More

My favourite pastime is beach walking and collecting seaglass. I was pleasantly surprised to find a few pieces of glass at Swami's Beach at the lowest tide amongst the rocks at the point. At low tide you can walk from Swami's beach to Moonlight beach - it will probably take you around 1/2 hour. There are over 120 steps down... More

If the tide is too high to run on the sand, try climbing the stairs at Swami beach several times. Ow! But I had to do it, my pregnant daughter was! If not so energetic, what a great place to just sit on a bench and watch al the bobbing surfers waiting for a wave!

Not a huge beach and parking can be an issue but it has some good surf at times. Not bad for swimming either. It has a flushed bathroom up top and several flights of steps down to the sand.
