This is always a great experience. We went to the Turf Club, so not the average experience to begin with. beuatiful day, food is pricey and okay, but it is a lot of people and it is a very short time span. They do the best they can. No place more beautiful if you love horses. The wait staff is... More

Californians like you to believe this is the greatest racetrack in the world...not so much. Pretty pricey to even get in to spend your money..parking is at least $10.00, entrance fee $10.00 an additional fee for clubhouse seating which is nothing more that seats closer to the finish line. You can see the sea if you stand on a seat... More

Really enjoyed the race track. We were in the Turf Club, so if you get a chance to go to the turf club, make sure you take advantage of it. The atmosphere is great, the food is okay, but its the only way to see the races.

My advice to someone going to Del Mar. Skip the clubhouse and the tables. Those are very expensive and actually hinder a person from enjoying the entire racetrack experience. I would stick with the "stretch run" portion of the grandstand. You can do and see everything from there. And you'll save a lot of money that you can otherwise spend... More

Great historical racetrack. Perfect weekend to attend the races and stay across the street at the Del Mar Hilton. Highly recommend the Turf Club, extra dollars to get in is well worth it.

Great fun day with friends, our first trip and will certainly do it again. We went on a Wednesday and it happened to be a free admission day, so check their website if you're flexible.

If in San Diego area, give it a visit. Fun history of movie stars like Bing Crosby at Del Mar. Architecture has character.

The idea that Del Mar is where the surf meets the turf sounds intriguing, but it turned out to be a disappointment. As an institution where one goes to place bets on horse races, Del Mar is more than adequate. However, as a place where I enjoyed spending an afternoon, it was a serious disappointment. There's something about the setting... More

Very nice track. Clean everywhere. Nice people. Seats are very reasonable. Take a taxi or a shuttle. traffic and parking can be a problem. Prices even for drinks and food are 15$ for mixed drink 12 $ beer. Try level 4 Sections 10 to 8 nice view of finish line. cheap at 15$ per seat. It's a beautiful track by... More

The Del Mar Race Track is a must do for any San Diego visitor. Located where the San Dieguito River meets the Pacific Ocean, the views are beautiful. Our neighbors let us use their box seats, we enjoyed a couple of adult beverages and bet on a few ponies. Bob Baffert, a world class trainer had 4 horses entered and... More
