I grew up listening to stories of this place from my grandpa, so I jumped at the chance to go for an afternoon with my family this past year. The Del Mar racetrack is part of the fabric of this area, so if you have the time to go bet on some ponies, sit in the sun and enjoy the... More

This is a must do for the locals and visitors alike. Such a fun way to spend an afternoon. I am a turf club member so it is very special watching the horses get ready to take the lap walk but even if you are in the stands or one of the club floors -- you can't go run --... More

We are not big horse racing fans, but we do enjoy coming out to the track once or twice during the season. Be sure to walk thru the tunnel to the infield area. And there's no better place for the turf races than in the infield area to hear the full thundering hooves as they go racing by. You can... More

The GOOD GUYS CAR SHOW was quite disappointing with way less than the 1500 cars to see, not many food vendors and only Coors Light for domestic beer for sale. There were less than 300 cars to see, so this is nothing like the GOOD GUYS CAR SHOW I saw in Washington state.

For horse racing fans, the summer meet at Del Mar is in a class by itself. The setting is absolutely gorgeous being within viewing distance of the Pacific. The architecture is beautiful. The paddock is lush with beautiful flowers and greenery. The Thoroughbreds are high quality and the atmosphere is FUN. The towns of Del Mar/Solana Beach/La Jolla have much... More

We had a great family day out here and all children's activities such as face painting, pony rides, bouncy castles and more were all free. Drinks pricey but great variety of locally produced wine and beer. Would definately recommend.

We are a couple in our mid fifties. My husband lived in the SD area for many years and has frequented Del Mar since he was 20. I have been coming to Del Mar with my family as far back as my teenage years. The race track now caters to young people whose only interest is dressing in designer clothes... More

What a great experience. Clean and well maintained. The area where you view the horses is just lovely with planted flowers and comfortable benches. On Wednesday, if you sign up at the Diamond Club, entrance is half price - $5, you get a free program, hot dogs and beer (coors light only) is half price. Bring your own water bottle,... More

If u can't have fun at Del Mar - wowza! The energy is infectious and everyone is pumped to win. Food & drink are pricey but when u go once a year, it's worth it. We have been to other race parks and Del Mar is by far one of the cleanest. Staff is organized and onboard to help w/directions... More

One of the items on my “bucket list” was to take part in a day at a horse race track. Yeah, I didn’t need to travel to San Diego to do this. I could have done it in Iowa over in Des Moines, but if I did it, and I thought that I would only do it once, then I... More
