I stopped close by to view the sunset (not to swim or surf at the beach), and it was beautiful with the sinking sun behind. The colors were bright orange, yellow, and with the dark water and pounding waves, a sight to be seen and heard. And it looked as though surfing was great, although a few told me that... More

Took an afternoon stroll on the beach. It was beautiful. The water was too cool for us, but it was nice and sunny. People were building awesome sandcastles.

I love the Del Mar beach. It helps that I've been going to it for about 50 years now, but I love it just as much now as ever. Possibly more. The beach is clean and you can feel safe knowing that the lifeguard department is first-rate, friendly, and helpful. I love these people. Seagrove and Powerhouse Parks are right... More

The kind of beach we like. The grass area is nice as opposed to sitting in the sand. Restrooms handy. And it is close to the Poseidon Restaurant. Parking is difficult if one does not want to pay the city parking lot rate. It may be busier than others, but we have not gone to others in the Del Mar... More

The Del Mar beach is always clean and has a Life Guard station. There is also a grassy park that overlooks the ocean and is a great spot to relax, read, eat and enjoy. In the summer they do concerts in the park. It is a lovely spot and there are also trees for those who need a little shade.... More

Went to the of leash dog section three times on our visit to Del Mar. The beach was very clean, they have poop bag dispensers and trash cans. The water was warm and clear. Note that the off leash section is ON LEASH from mid June to Labor day, when the kiddies go back to school, dogs rule! Did see... More

We only went after dinner to walk the beach and dip our feet in the ocean. But it was lively with other guests and lit up.

Great beach for surfers . Usually locals go to this beach . It's sandy and has areas with grass to sit and have a pick nick. You can also shower there. I loved it although the water is not really for swimming because of the waves. If you are visiting San Diego don't miss it!

Three days to stay on the beach as it was irresistible. Parking tricky but doable. Residents and Europeans primary attendees
