Doheny State Beach is a sandy flat place that attracts surfers, bathers, and drivers (not divers). A short detour from I-5 gives you a respite from the highway driving and a cool spot for a picnic lunch. Near the entrance to the paid parking lot (only $1.00/hr.) sit several picnic tables with a good view of the beach and marshy... More

This is a pretty popular beach, so it does get crowed. Both in the water and on the sands. There are a lot of rocks in the water, so mainly surfers and paddle boards use the water. One of the rare surf breaks were 2-4 surfers can ride the same wave. Clean restrooms, showers, food and a lot of panic... More

Doheny is a decent beach- definitely for surfing. There are good restroom ammenities, bike rentals and an eatery. It is right next to the harbor if you are inclined to take a walk. If you want to swim or wade in the ocean, I would reccommend San Clemente pier though- calmer and less steep. $15.00 to park is a bit... More

One of the best beaches in southern California. Try to arrive early in the day as it gets very crowded in the summer months.

They stay on top of this facility. Not your usual campground. Clean beaches too. All day long I saw maintenance staff rolling around and staying on top of this campground. Impressive

This is a great beach for anyone. Great walking/running trail around the inside of the beach area. They offer bike rentals, surf board rentals and have a great snack bar. The marina is located right next door and have various shops to look at and food options available. Doheny State Beach is located in Dana Point area and has so... More
