One of the last beaches that still has fire pits. The water was a little cold in june still. The beach was a little rocky, but it was still a nice trip with a nice view.

Had a large group meet up at the beach for lunch and volleyball. Its nice to sit in the grass or at a table for lunch then head to the sand for volleyball. Our kids rented a peddle bike and had a great time. Beach is a little rocky.

We stayed at the campsites right on the beach. Fourth of July Weekend. The campsite was clean the shower was good. It had firepits and perfect weather. The beach wasn't suitable for kids to play in the water. Tons of seaweed people were mainly surfing and in boats and seadoo's. They have lots of rentals and restaurants. It was very... More

We wound up at Doheny State Beach because the "Baby beach" was posted no swimming due to high bacteria levels. So, over the the State Beach we went. The facilities are nice and it was a gorgeous day but the slope of the beach makes for a very worrisome time when there with little kids who want to get their... More

This is a nice state beach and my first time visiting it. We came as we were visiting friends. We sat at the picnic tables and had an afternoon BBQ. Whats great is there are BBQ's right next to the picnic tables. There is also a bike rental place nearby so I would recommend renting some and riding along the... More

This is a nice state beach for picnics, beach play, and enjoying the ocean. There are also camping possibilities. Its a busy park, so if you want beautiful ocean views and people watching as well, its a great park for that. If you want some more peace and quiet, there are other beach parks to go to.

Having bought a State Park beach pass after moving to Southen California last fall, we have been checking out all of the beaches in the area. Parking was very convenient to the beach. No steps to worry about. This beach has a lot of amenities....picnic tables, grills, restrooms(that were very clean)an area for camping, volleyball courts and a concession stand.... More

My day at the Doheny State Beach was absolutely wonderful. Located within walking distance from the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort and Spa, (which is where I lived for 10 days) it was so convenient to stroll over there and spend the day. The beach is clean and quiet...most of the sounds were from the waves cresting from sea to shore.... More

Even though we went down just for the day for a graduation we always go down early just to visit and relax. We usually bring a small cooler with some wine and munchies and is a great place to people watch. The south part is for camping and the North part is for the beach , picnic tables, , and... More
