The beach has rocks which we weren't expecting , you need surf shoes it's so incredibly uncomfortable to get in the ocean with all the rocks !! The showers weren't working ...? Maybe due to the water shortage ? It seemed like many surfers , teens & families were spending the day there . I just couldn't get over the... More

We camped here for two nights and its a great location if you love the beach. You do have to cope with trains going by, but they usually stop running by 10PM or so. The bathrooms were good and never crowded. The sites are a bits small and close together, but we spent most of the time on the beach... More

Very busy beach. There is a beach cafe which is nice to sit at. The surf is great for beginners but is very crowded.

We have lived in Orange County for 13 years and decided to take a chance and camp right on the beach at Doheny. We visit Doheny all the time, but wanted to spend the night & sleep in the tent. If you don't mind mice & noise, this is the place for you. The campsites are very small & designed... More

Came to this beach on my visit to Dana Point and this is where we came for our surfing lessons. Waves were not too harsh there were many kids out here surfing .... even seen a kid that looked about 5 or 6 surfing. It was overcast and bit rainy, but i can definitely tell this place can get VERY... More

I was last here in 2008 had a great time everything was nice and clean. This time the bathrooms had graffiti scratched in to bathroom stalls. Showers nasty people leaving crap all over. Positives the location is beach front.r the place. Beach was still pretty good in front of the camp ground.

Beautiful but crowded. There are other south California coastal beaches with great views and quieter for singles, couples, and families.

Doheny beach has plenty to do. There are vollyball nets and balls as well as a snack bar and rental shop for bikes, board and other beach items. There are restroooms and park space with picnic tables. It is a surffing beach with waves and rip tides, so not really for swimming. Also, the water is cool and rocky. However... More

Not happy with this beach at all. Terribly rocky sand, shore break, literally cut my feet walking out into the water. Great for surfing only.
