WE usually love Doheny Beach, and I'm not sure if it was just the time of year, but the beach and water were dirty. A lot of stinky seaweed and trash all over. The beach isn't usually like that and we normally enjoy it very much.

The beach is covered with rocks. I prefer to go to the state beach just to the north of Doheny or San Clemente just south of Capistrano Beach and Doheny.

Love this rocky ol' beach. It is great for excersising as it connects right through Capistrano beach right down to San Clemente beach if you're feeling fit enough, and wear your water shoes to protect your feet. On the beach area itself, you will see everything from bird congregations near where the creek winds into the ocean; to fire pits... More

This is a great beach to learn to surf. I got baptized here with Saddlebach Church. It made sense to commit my life to Christ in the ocean in SoCal.

I love the ocean but hate trekking across miles of pavement and schlepping all my beach gear over yards of sand just to get to the water. This beach is my dream. It's quiet, peaceful, and you can park just feet away from the sand and be in the water in no time. There are also fire pits, picnic tables,... More

One of the last beaches that still has fire pits. The water was a little cold in june still. The beach was a little rocky, but it was still a nice trip with a nice view.

Had a large group meet up at the beach for lunch and volleyball. Its nice to sit in the grass or at a table for lunch then head to the sand for volleyball. Our kids rented a peddle bike and had a great time. Beach is a little rocky.

We stayed at the campsites right on the beach. Fourth of July Weekend. The campsite was clean the shower was good. It had firepits and perfect weather. The beach wasn't suitable for kids to play in the water. Tons of seaweed people were mainly surfing and in boats and seadoo's. They have lots of rentals and restaurants. It was very... More

We wound up at Doheny State Beach because the "Baby beach" was posted no swimming due to high bacteria levels. So, over the the State Beach we went. The facilities are nice and it was a gorgeous day but the slope of the beach makes for a very worrisome time when there with little kids who want to get their... More

This is a nice state beach and my first time visiting it. We came as we were visiting friends. We sat at the picnic tables and had an afternoon BBQ. Whats great is there are BBQ's right next to the picnic tables. There is also a bike rental place nearby so I would recommend renting some and riding along the... More
