We have loved this beach for years. Now they have hourly parking! No longer have to pay for a whole day just to spend an hour or two on the beach. Great option!

A very good beach for whatever it is you like to do. Surfing, paddle boarding, volley ball or picknicking. You can rent bicycles and surf boards. Food stand open during high season. Very well maintained. Camp ground as well. Be advised, it's dry camping but shower/restroom facilities on hand and also well maintained. Many spaces right on the beach! Love... More

Please not that I did visit this place in the off season: Jan. So the beach is dirty with trash all over the place and the water itself is quite dingy looking. We only stopped by for a short walk along the beach, but not even my girls who will usually take their shoes off and at least get their feet... Love. Love. Love. Spent the day at the beach in my bikini, and then in the evening in jeans and a sweatshirt in front of a bonfire, listening to the waves and looking at the stars. It was perfect. Definitely a true California day!

Having lived in Los Angeles for many years, I have visited the beaches from Ventura to Newport Beach and endured the costly parking, the long walks from the parking lots and the wall-to wall people. Both Capistrano Beach and Doheny are hidden gems that thousands pass unknowingly on their way to San Diego. Doheny is the larger beach with picnic... More

We enjoyed our trip camping for the weekend. The weather wasn't perfect but who cares your at the beach. We took our bikes and rode around this beautiful place. They have a nice picnic area. Butterfly garden and good bike path. No hookups really should have water.

Spent an evening here walking on the beach and watching the sun set. Very nice beach. I'm sure it's a popular place in the summer.

Rocky bottomed, this isn't your Hawaiian sesame seed sand beach but it has a charm of its own. Pros: learn to surf or sup surf, camp for a kings ransom, hang out and watch the boats from the harbor, fish off the rocks at the point. Cons: little paid parking lot, rocky bottom, polluted during and within a week of any rains... More

What a nice beach. I liked the RV camp ground park. Even though it's close to the road, it's pretty quiet.

This is a great spot for a stroll or sitting on a scenic and quiet beach area. It is very popular in summer, and would be an excellent choice for camping next to the beach.
