Have taken my children and grandchildren on the whale-watching several times. Just awesome. But make sure if they get queasy easy, you give them some dramamine an hour before they board. It's no fun for the little ones (or you) if you get light-headed with an upset stomach.

We fished for 9 hours taking advantage of the half priced fishing trip ! We were lucky and got on the Clemente which is in my opinion the best and most productive boat in the fleet. This is a very affordable way to take advantage of the best fishing possible out of Dana Point.

This was quite an adventure. There was so much to see, where to begin? Best of all we spotted a humpback whale which was remarkable since it was in November! Another wonderful part of the tour was the large pod of dolphins that were swimming along side the boat. Then another type of dolphin species also joined in the act,... More

My wife and I took all the grand kids and their parents out on the Dana Pride. The largest ship in the Dana Wharf fleet, is very comfortable steady ride with an inside seating and galley if the weather turns bad. They had a Marine Biologist on board who had models of all the sea creatures we may encounter that... More

Have always had a good experience and have been about 50 times. Make sure you take motion sickness pills (Bonez) the night before cuz they are not going back in. Half day boats are enough to get a good taste of what's going on, plus you will see what most visitors never see and that is the coast from several... More

Before driving to the Dana Point I researched Dana Wharf Whale Watching on TripAdvisor and reviewed their schedule on their website. I arrived with time to spare for a 2 PM launch only to be told they would not be having a tour at that time today. I was obviously disappointed. (Maybe I missed a note that the posted schedule... These guys were awesome! Came here on 10/18/2014 on a 3/4 day trip for my cousins birthday and the crew was great. We stopped at a few places and i believe everyone on the boat caught at least 2 fish. Only a few Yellowtail and mostly rock fish. The crew was super helpful and respectful. These guys are awesome!

We went on a two hour whale watching excursion oct, 10, 2014 but there were no whales. We saw lots of Dolphins perhaps 1000. It was a pleasant. Voyage and I would do it again. I would get 50 percent off the price if I decided to try again.

On Oct. 4th a group of 11 of us chartered the boat San Mateo for a private tuna fishing charter. The trip is from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They supplied the boat and fishing licenses, bait and fishing poles. Basically you can arrive at the boat with no equipment needed. They also serve hot food on the boat. The... More

Nice boat, friendly and knowledgeable crew, and hundreds of common dolphins. Also got a wonderful view of a Humpback whale. Looking forward to returning and trying the fishing.
