we arrived without reservations, and on the week, so we could not enjoy the tasting of the wines, but we were cordially shown around the place, the amazing views of the valley , and given a good history of the owners, the company and the provenience of the grapes. nicely done!

The Monte Bello sire has a "quaint" tasting room with history of the winery on the walls. Basically Reds from their different regions. I've not had one of their Reds that I didn't like. They can be a little pricey ($25 to $50 or more). Pack a lunch, buy a bottle and enjoy a wonderful view of Silicon Valley. Drive... More

Been awhile since we've been here, but it sure didn't disappoint! The new tasting area is fantastic, we choose to sit outside, our pourer was great and the wine was awesome! The drive up the hill can be a challenging, but well worth it!

We love Ridge wines and have been tasting club members for a few years. However, when we drive to Monte Bello to pick up,our wines we are not allowed to bring our well-behaved small dogs into the picnic area. There is no sign that tells you this. Today in the half hour we were there we watched 4 people like... More

Hi CarmenJo, I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be to not be able to bring your dog along with you on your trips to Monte Bello. We are all dog lovers here at Ridge so we do understand your disappointment. It is that love of dogs however that is at the heart of our policy. As you know,... More

Some of the best views over Silicon Valley. Worth a visit just for that. But the wine is the main event naturally. Busy at the weekends and great picnic spot

well - for us - it was a sojourn, a required visit. we have loved ridge wines for decades, and we had never been to Monte Bello. Both the Lytton Springs and Monte Bello locations are wonderful. the wines are excellent, but the tour and tasting we had a monte bello was amazingly beautiful.

For $30 per person, you get the Estate Tasting and vineyard tour. That includes a wine making lesson on what makes this vineyard unique, a geology lesson on what makes the wine unique to this area, as well as a very delicious wine tasting flight with expert tasting notes, as well as snacks, and an amazing view of Silicon Valley.... Their wines compete with the best of CA wines. It doesn't get any better in Napa or anywhere in California than the reliably excellent wines at Ridge. Go for a tasting, pack a picnic lunch or just some cheese & crackers, and sit on the top of the world, sipping their rapturous wines.

I booked to have a for the estate tasting. I rocked up a little bit late as I had no idea that the road to the vineyards was so steep and winding. (Give yourself extra journey time) Luckily as it turns out I was the only one booked on the tasting so I had a private tasting and tour. My... More
