We stayed at the Del for 3 nights out of a 12 night southern california trip - and I was looking forward to the Del more than anywhere else. We stayed over the 4th of July holiday and the hotel was booked. We reserved a room 6 months prior - wanted 2 beds for us and our kids - and... more

I stayed at the Del 2 yrs ago over Memorial Day Weekend and it was probably one of the best stays that I have ever had at a hotel. From check-in to check-out, the service, the food, the room was impecable (sorry if I spelled that incorrectly). The pool and the gym were amazing, I had to swim laps every... more

Just spent 3 nights at the Del with my husband and two kids. Okay first things first. How come noone ever mentions the constant barrage of incredibly noisy jet planes flying directly over the hotel. I guess we were the only people who didn't know that this hotel is located moments away form the largest air force base in America.... more

We arrived at the hotel at 9pm and there was not much to do - the bar area was open but the restaurants all seemed to be closing. We walked along the promenade and looked enviously at the people in the beach cottages enjoying their fire pits - it looked gorgeous. Our room was clean but on the small side... more

We just returned from 5 days at the Hotel Del and while yes it is very beautiful and allot of history behind it. We had to put up with the tourists standing in front of the lobby and elevator and would not let us through. The added charges for the coffee, computer connections etc..were outrageous as was the self parking.... more

I stayed in this hotel - for total leisure - for 3 nights at the beginning of April and after all the hype from friends over here I was expecting something absolutely stunning! I was more than a little disappointed especially as I'd had such a wonderful experience in the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island in October last year, another... more

A historic charmer on a charming island off downtown San Diego. Stayed here for business and brought a friend. I was amazed at the old ballroom and the story that Thomas Edison designed the original wiring. The lobby had loads of charm being wood paneled and spacious. Now days they have modern extensions to the hotel with great ocean views.... more

I stayed at the Del Coronado for 4 nights while attending a convention in October. The location is great as you are right on the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is old but well kept up. The lobby features a lot of dark wood paneling and the old fashioned elevator has an attendent. It reminds... more

Ok, first things first.. the hotel itself is beautiful and the location is to die for. So why one star??? Staying at the Del is not a cheap hobby.. by the time we were charged our daily rate and then parking and then resort fees and then taxes we were paying the wrong side of $400 a night.. For this... more
