We saw a new release at Village Theater while in Coronado for a couple weeks. The place was fun and did not disappoint. The main theater has a great feel to it with painted walls and a black-light enhancement that gives it a unique feel - but the sound and projection were up to date. After hours walking in the... The wow factors here are the black-light, 3-d renderings on two walls of the theater. One side is the City of San Diego skyline, the other the Hotel Del. A luxurious red velvet-looking curtain stretches across the stage in front of the movie screen, and comfortable, very roomy seats envelop you. We got a good chuckle with the retro ads... More

We lived in Coronado 40 years ago, so when I heard The Village had recently been renovated, we decided to check it out. Wow! That Fresh Popcorn Smell! The art deco styling looks great in lobby and throughout. When we lived here it was just one large theatre of course, but now it's divided into three, each with its own... More

Village Theater is a renovated 1947 movie house. The theater closed for about a decade and was re-opened a couple of years ago. The renovation changed the theater from a large single screen space into three separate theaters - 1 large and 2 small. The interior decor fits with the art deco exterior and terrazzo side walk. Incredible murals will... More

You just can't miss going to this beautiful theatre - totally remodeled with the most incredible scenery on the walls. Comfortable seats; small theaters. Just wonderful.

Visiting the inside of this recently revamped movie theater is a must if you are a "Nado" resident or a visitor to Coronado. It is one of the most beautiful movie theaters I have ever seen, reminiscent of the grand old days of the silver screen. Make sure you walk into all three theaters to see the artwork in each... More

Recently re-done to its 1940's beauty it is just one more JEWEL in Coronado's crown. This theater is the theater that so many of us (also of a certain vintage) grew up with. Updated to modern technological expectations with the latest visual and sound capabilities, it does one better by serving the best popcorn in town. Don't miss a trip... More

Been so long since I have enjoyed a theatre this much. With a lovely stroll down Orange Avenue before the film and dinner afterward at Il Fornaio, this was like a 5-hour mini-vacation, since we live in San Diego. Perfect get away for busy urbanites!

I attended my first movie at Coronado's Village Theater tonight. I attended a special event so I didn't use their box office, so I don't know their pricing. You can check prices at their website: I just assumed that they had one big theater, but they also have at least one smaller theater which was the one I experienced. The... More

I love that the movie theater is back, and we have first run movies again on Orange Avenue. It's become the meeting spot again for everyone, as you always know someone at the showings.
